canuktravella Posted September 15, 2015 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Out of those options, RNH is the least likely in my opinion mainly because once McDavid establishes himself as the top line centre RNH is going to want out of Edmonton and play on another teams top line and in the salary cap era I doubt the oilers can afford McDavid, Hall, Eberle, and RNH while filling out the rest of the roster. seeing hall eberle rnh are signed long term at 6 mill for next 4-5 yrs and mcdavid is signed for three im pretty sure they can affird more players Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It seems a few people around here still have yet to move on and remain consumed by hate. Though frankly, I think Heffy's schtick is just that. Or at least I hope so or he/she needs some help. So you think it's OK to have a captain who thinks it's ok to embarrass the sport by flipping fans off mentoring your youngsters? If they choose Eberle now and McDavid turns out to become a 2PPG player and their saviour what are they gonna do? It'd make an awkward situation to take the C off of Eberle and give it to him. Your captain doesn't need to be the biggest point producer. It needs to be someone who bleeds your teams colours and be a voice in the locker room. Honestly the Oilers have no one really. By the time McDavid signs a new contract, their top 6 will be making over half the salary cap. Then you add their top 4 defense prospects... LMAO :D He has zero intensity and shows almost no emotion before during after games. The Oilers fans I know crack up at this silly notion. Great player yes, captain ? no way in hell. AS much as I despise Ference his no BS attitude is why he is Cap in EDM still. He is the guy that can and will say anything needed in the room.
