KKnight2014
So let's just be hypothetical here for discussion sake. After an injury plagued season,We land the #1 overall pick in the 2016 draft. Which direction do you choose for the club? Do you go Matthews,Puljujarvi or Chychrun? And why? Which route do you choose at the TDL and in the summer?? What's your perspective?

-AJ-
For real though, Chychrun. Strong d-man who can play great offense. Something we desperately need.
MFWYNOT
Chychrun. The team could use an actual future 1C, like Matthews, but their defence pool is horrendous.

How can we choose what to do at the trade deadline after we've won the first overall pick? And how about we see how the prospects for the 2016 draft shake out before we decided on who'd be worth the 1st overall.

Sure thing boss! I'll make sure to run thread ideas by you before I post them.

Pretty sure he meant to say "who should we trade at deadline if we are in last place" But I agree about not being able to even start to tell who is the best player ATM. Just a redundant end of summer boredom thread.
N7Nucks
Given a lot can happen between now and the draft, it's hard to say. Thread is about 5-6 months early.

X-Man
Since Matthews is said to be another "generational" prospect, then today you'd be crazy to pass him up. Canucks need a 1C just as much as a 1D, and I don't see any Robert Marvin Orrs in the 2016 draft. Duh..
jmahyoung
Can't decide between C and D? Then a top two pick is just as good
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
I'd choose whoever is the consensus BPA on draft day. Not completely sure who that will be (probably Matthews) since a lot can happen between now and 24 June 2016.

baumerman77
At this point, Matthews. We need a need both a 1C and a top D. But Matthews put up better numbers (very similar though) to Eichel in his -1 draft season.

So far from now though (when any of these would make an impact) that it is pretty hard to predict absolute needs. Never mind any idea of where the Canucks might draft. Zuongo
Chychrun....or mathews.. we need a 1c and a 1c....argh. A franchise Dman would be bloody nice though.
bobby-b
I think the obvious choice would be 'Elvis Presley'... sure he's not alive, but with your imaginary #1 spot, way not bring back one of Nashville's best skaters?
the harry
Austin Matthews, no doubt about it. I am looking forward to watch him play the season in my hometown. Hello everybody, greetings from Zurich, because this is my first post here.
