I responded to Ashbury in my reply to you actually lol my bad

Of course those other guys can score but more than 30 ? nope WE need at least 3 30+ goal scores to go deep. One 30 and one 20 goal scorer is peanuts. Yes Burr and Hank could break 20 again but that is one line, we need team scoring to go up huge.

Vrbata should be on pace for ~30 (until we move him at the deadline), Daniel should be good for 20-25, same with Burr. Hank 15-20, Sutter +/- 20. I wouldn't be surprised to see Horvat, Baer and Vey all around 15-20 (maybe more if one gets hot). Hansen ~15, Higgins 10-15...

Plenty of scoring throughout the lineup and we don't remotely need all those scorers you posted. You know what Boston had when they won the cup in 2011? One 30 goal scorer, one at 26, one at 22 and one at 21. EVERYONE else was sub 20. Besides, on what planet is it likely we're 'going deep' this year?

So, is Cole Cassels better than Linden Vey at this point?

Nope.

Kenins with Sedins while Horvat is stuck with Higgins and Hansen LOL.

Kenins is a LOT like a young Burrows, it actually makes a lot of sense to temporarily sub him in there and spread the veterans out for the preseason.

Higgins, Horvat, Hansen is VERY likely our third line this year.

We won't know who they really have an eye on until the intra-squad. There's some lines that are locks for cut, namely: Kurtz/Jones/Jensen, Bancks/Hamilton/Zhukenov+Stewart, LaBate/Friesen/Fox+Petit and D pairs, Neil/Negrin, Sautner/McEneny, Olsen/Erhardt, Cederholm/Fedun.

Which would give a reduced roster for preseason games of:

21 Forwards:

Sedin Sedin Kenins

Baertschi Sutter Vrbata

Higgins Horvat Hansen

Prust Vey Dorsett

Burrows Cassels Virtanen

Gaunce Cracknell Grenier

Shinkaruk McCann Zalewski

10 D:

Hamhuis Weber

Edler Tanev

Bartkowski Sbisa

Hutton Corrado

Pedan Biega

Miller

Markstrom

Bachman

I think the Kenins experiment with the twins is interesting. He's not known for his finish but rather his tenacity. Hutton and Corrado is intriguing, looks like they want to give big B some games. I believe I hit the nail on the head in regards to having 10 NHL D, and that's what it looks like. I honestly think Vey could be displaced, pairing with those wingers makes for a pretty brutal offensive game, and Vey doesn't necessarily add the grit that the other two do.

You think Jensen is a lock to be cut?

I wouldn't look too much into the lines especially since we have not seen anybody play yet.

I think Fedun sticks around for a bit, might even be the 7th dman if they decide that corrado is better suited to be 1st pairing in the ahl.

I don't think it's about Kenins with Sedins but more about Burrows with Cassels. Unlike for the other lines they already know what they have in Sedins-Burrows so they don't necessarily need to practice that line as much. I think they want to test Cassels with a vet instead of a rookie like Kenins to know where he is at in case they need to make a change at 4C - maybe not at the start of the season but if Vey can't play that position they probably prefer giving the opportunity to Cassels than any other vet in the system.

Some telling groups/pairs in those lineups IMO (you can pretty much see what they have penciled* in for lines) and JEBUS that Burrows/Cassels/Virtanen line. I pity the fools playing against that line

*Sedin, Sedin, Burr

Baer, Sutter, Vrbata

Higgins, Horvat, Hansen

Prust, Vey, Dorsett

Is say thats pretty close to what we'll see opening night.

Corrado is waiver eligible which essentially means he will be on the opening day roster barring a trade, injury or horrid camp.
