No way does this happen. Maybe we'll see one 9 game tryout from a player who has a strong camp. Loblaw is right. What if after 9 games they are all clearly not ready for the NHL? They get sent down, and the Canucks, who were forced to make room for 3 rookies by dealing vets away, now have to either roll with a 20 man roaster (12 forwards, 6 D, 2 G) or grab some waiver cast-offs to plug the holes.

Not a good strategy.

That girl is in an awkward looking stance, like she is in the middle of sneaking out a toot.

He will either do, or do not. However, if management feels he is not strong enough, he will likely be back in junior. I can sympathize with your impatience, but in reality I cannot foresee McCann-ucklehead making a difference on the team this year.

Before McCann gets his spot on the roster with Virtanen, I'd really like to hear which vets are on the block. Our roster is fairly set as it is and there aren't a whole lot of options of players to move up and down, so who gets traded? If a junior eligible prospect does make our team it will be one of them, not two. It makes more sense to me that we see Gaunce, Cassels and Shinkaruk as call-ups as needed as they will not have waiver issues. One of the two McCann or Virtanen will likely get the 9 games, but I predict both will be heading back to junior. I'm basing this from JB's interviews of late.

People are failing to realize the massive jump from the jr boys game to the elite men's game. There's a reason for the AHL. Most young players need to develop their pro game in a lesser league than the NHL. Very few go from Jrs to NHL without some AHL experience.

I agree that it's not fun waiting for these guys to develop their game, but...it's what it is.

Try focussing on Baer, Corrado, Marks and Vey. Hopefully they are all ready to make the jump successfully.

Vey already jumped, not very high. But he still jumped lol

I see where you are coming from but one statement you made confused me. Play the young guys for their nine games and if they are not ready for the NHL trade them? Just because players aren't ready for a full time spot in the NHL doesn't mean you trade them. How will we ever get a contending team in the future with that attitude?

I would like to see a few of the guys get nine games. Maybe Shinkaruk has a chance this year? I don't really follow the prospects as much as I could but if I remember correctly, Shinkaruk was the last(or one of the last) player cut a few years ago. It looked very possible he would make the team with Torts yet since then it seems he has been passed down the depth chart. Again, I don't follow the prospects so maybe he has had injury issues that I was unaware of, just find it interesting.
