inane
Detroit Red Wings awards MVP -- In a weak season for everyone, PK Subban gets the nod. Rookie of the year -- Ivan Barbashev was really the lone bright spot for Detroit all year with 32 pts on the 2nd line. We're hoping for big things in the upcoming seasons from Barbashev. D of the year -- Alec Martinez had a sold year getting 29 points on the 2nd pairing. Bust of the year -- The nod goes to Casey Cizikas who put up only 7 points all year. Curiosity of the year -- Simon Despres playing on the 2nd pairing with Martinez only got 5 points. As it stands here is the roster for the 2018 Detroit Red Wings. We expect to be very busy during free agency as the team below has a cap hit of about $58 million. David Backes - Derrick Brassard - David Pastrnak Matt Moulson - Ivan Barbashev - Ty Rattie Sebastian Aho - Alex Wennberg - Travis Luoma Michael Raffl - Travis Konecny - Vincent Trocheck Dmitrij Jaskin - Anton Slepyshev PK Subban - Xavier Ouelette Alec Martinez - Roger Olsson Simon Despres - Mikey BoyesXXX Andrei Vasilevskiy Antti Raanta

GM Baer breaks silence on yet more legal accusations: "Many of you are aware of the incidient that has unfortunately taken place. Mr. Kane was involved in an altercation with a taxi driver last night. We are not comfortable disclosing the details however the orginization has suspended him from team activities indefinitely." It is unknown if Kane will start the season with the Devils. Coach Willie Desjardins refused to comment.

I won't show up and I'll continue training elsewhere." 3. @Canuck Surfer is an early contender for GM of the Year. 4. @DoughtysCheck is now just 6/4 odds to be named the Anaheim Ducks GM. 5. Phil Kessel has told @MikeyBoy44 to find him a new team. 6. The Sedins intend on playing one more year if they do not win the Cup. No comment from @Dion Phaneuf. 7. Jamie Benn will look to sign a contract worth 10 million a season. @Ilya Kovalchuk. is keen to sign but for less than what's being reported. 8. @Baer. has declared that JT Compher will outclass Jack Eichel in the upcoming playoff series. 9. @AntonRodin is desperate to poach Tomas Jurco from @Crom! this off-season. 10.
