Canuck Surfer
Dallas short & sweet off season summary report. We made it to the cup finals > and have an awesome top 4 / Top 6 / Goaltending tandem. Cap in good stead and generally a young team trending up. Things look pretty good in big D! But have a pretty big hole in our prospect rankings / AHL squad. So Dallas is willing to consider a top 6 forward or top 4 D. Even top pairing D. We require a Top 8 draft pick or serious prospect. Please PM re which players might be available and we can work out any details or packages!

AV.
STATE OF THE FRANCHISE A lot has happened the past 24 hours. We traded up to get pick 3 and made the move to bring in David Krejci. We'd like to thank Andre, Colin, Matthew, and Phil for their service and wish them the best. Here's some rationale. On Pontus Karlsson: It was absolutely necessary to get a defender like him. We lost two key defenders in Beauchemin and Seidenberg to retirement and with Myers having only one year remaining, we didn't want to risk losing him without having a guy who step in and help fill some of his minutes should he leave. We had a few targets and asked around the league but nothing materialized. We saw an opportunity to trade up in the draft and took it. Giving up Burakovsky was hard to do but the emergence of Kevin Hayes and prospects like Quinn O'Brien and Volker Lindemann knocking on the door, made him available for trade. On David Krejci: I felt something we lacked in the playoffs was another top-6 offensive center to take the pressure off of Eichel. We tried to add one at the TD but couldn't get a deal going. Krejci won a cup in Edmonton and I believe he can help us reach our goal in Carolina. Trading Barzal was tough because he was NHL ready this year and would've been on a cheap deal. But with Eichel, Henrique, and obviously Krejci in the mix, I don't think he would've gotten a great opportunity here. The same goes for prospect Phil Rossiter. Colin Wilson served us well but we needed to move some cap in this deal to make it work. WHAT TO EXPECT: The roster for the most part is complete. Pending official announcements, Eichel, Murray, Hayes, Nichushkin, and Andersen (and other RFA prospects) will all be back with us next season. It looks as though Quinn O'Brien will also become a regular with us next season. We expect to line-up like this: Duclair - Eichel - Nichushkin Yakupov - Krejci - O'Brien Buchnevich - Henrique - Hayes UFA - Eakin - Hemsky Maatta - Myers Murray - Karlsson Sanheim - UFA/McNabb Andersen O'Connor SPARES: Janmark, McNabb/UFA A few cheap roster signings and maybe the odd trade (should it come up) to fill out the roster. -------------
