Kassian involved in early morning car wreck...

Recommended Posts

Prust makes up his lack of skill with a professionalism not seen in Kassian thus far. The Canucks will probably retain him because he has good character, and will probably mentor kids in a way that Dorsett mentored Horvat.

Horvat is currently on track to be our best player.

probably dont think he will re-sign here... i remember he said he wanted to play in the east closer to his family (that was before the trade).. so pretty much this trade can end up for kassian (big power forward if he gets it right) and a 5th rounder for 1 yr rental..

If he decides to leave, then it will be too bad, but hopefully he mentors another young player in the meantime. I think he's going to be entertaining for us this season and it will be a shame to lose him. Not greatest with on-ice decisions, but a great character guy.

I think the importance of not having Kassian around to show our young prospects an unprofessional path is underestimated. You can only get away with that if you have the skill of a Patrick Kane or win some Stanley Cups.

Perhaps try sparing the young man the judgement? Big deal - he was a passenger in a car accident. What guilt!

Who here didn't/doesn't like to hang out with young women when you were/are that age (or any age for that matter).

Day off. Of course he's going to be out chasing a life - he's hardwired to do so.

Hope the injuries aren't serious.

Agree completely.......this is not news, hockey players party. However, the optics are bad for Kass though.

A 20-year old woman was driving the truck, which ran into a tree on Clanranald Ave. A 24-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were passengers in the vehicle, said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture.

Speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which took place around 6 a.m., said Couture.

Old Zack...running around with 2 girls at 6 am during training camp...although it was an off day..but still.

The point that he was out at 6 am period, (not jogging), at a critical point in training camp reflects the same problems Vancouver had with this guy.

Jack Kassian is not a smart man. I'm not name calling here, I just believe it to be true.

I don't think we'll ever know the details of the little things that happened in Vancouver with Zack because Vancouver managed him the best they could. They had baby sitters in holding him accountable which in the end was a flop. He did not improve on or off the ice.

JB has a season that confirmed this guy had to go.

Getting Brandon Prust's character and ridding the Canucks of a character might be one of the better moves JB made all summer.

Now hes Montreal's problem and they better get him micro managed pretty quick, I already feel it's too late for this guy because he's just not smart enough to play professional hockey.

In Zack's case it continues. More evidence he's not grown up.

He's out of passes. He's not smart.

Bergevin is not the type of guy to give him too much rope either.

It's honestly one more thing after this, and it might be as simple as showing up late to practice, and GMMB won't hesitate to waive him.

It's that close with Zack right now, I'd wager.

never thought of it that way.

It's illegal to not wear a seat belt but legal to jump in with a drunique driver. Seems legit.

It brings to mind the story of Travis Bateman and Beau Stering et al.

4 guys all drinking and driving/riding. It was tragic as drunk driving death always are, but how was one any more culpable than the rest?

First off, hope Kass and everyone in the car are OK.

But I can't help but think that with Kassians' reputation, playing in Montreal, one of the best cities in North America to go to if you want to have some fun, won't necessarily a good thing for him.

Kassian would literally die if he ended up on that Vegas team if it happens. Lots of good fits out there.

Kassian

P.Kane

Stoll

Richards

Heatley

E Kane

Luongo (casinos)

Who else? Need some Dmen maybe a coach.

On a more positive note at least he had the sense to not pull a Ryan O'Reilly and drive the truck himself. If the headline was Zack Kassian drives truck into tree and flees scene before being apprehended it would be a lot worse.

I for one don't believe that he wasn't driving for one second. I'm betting his lady friend is taking the fall for him. One thing IS for sure; this didn't take long to happen did it? So glad we got rid of this bum...

It is pretty easy to find out for the police... there is bruising from the seatbelts etc and other injuries that are specific to where you are sitting.
