It was mostly articles an then they'd do a tasteful, yet nude, photo shoot or two. If you wanted a spank rag, you got something like Hustler. Playboy was more like Men's Health or Maxim, except for older people. The bigger issue isn't so much competition from internet porn. Playboy was never meant to compete with hardcore porn.
