canuktravella
We have so far in season looked great with youth movement 3 rookies under 22 mccann 19 doing pretty nice job as 3rd c virtanen 19 (good luck tonight im excited bout kings game) hutton 22 mobile smart ppqb hasnt missed a beat since preseason plus second yr players (baerchi, markstrom, horvat) So at or before deadline we will hve a bunch of hungry comet players waiting for callups ( gaunce, kenins, shinkaruk, grenier, jensen) we have a bunch of ufa coming off books next yr 4.5 mill hamhuis has been weak link on d last 2 yrs one goal last yr doesnt cut it while making that big a salary he does have value as contenders might give a second or first rounder at deadline 2.5 prust hes gritty good on forecheck leader that protects rookies id resign him 1.75 bartoski mobile dman helps us breakout id resign him 5.0 vrbata his value will be high any contender wold love adding a 30'goal scorer at deadline should get us a vermette like return at deadline 1st and a 2nd rounder 1.5 mill weber soft pp dman who gets constantly knocked off puck id trade him for a 3rd rounder equals 15.25 in cap space freed up id offer bartoski 2 yr 2.3 mill per deal and see if prust will take a 2 yr 2.75 mill per deal higgins both can get us late a early 3rd round picks id rather gaunce and take his spot burrows will have one more yr left on his deal i say he finishes contract as a canuck roster at deadline sedin sedin burrows baertchi horvat virtanen hansen mccann prust dorsett cracknell gaunce edler tanev hutton sbisa bartoski miller markstrom wed not miss a beat with this forward core plus wed have three 1st rounders two 2nds two 3rds at draft or to package in trades plus 15 mill in cap space but wed be missing a mean right handed 6th dman and a decent 7th dman im sure benning can find a few cheap replacements at deadline. One of (mcbain, clitsome, philips) for 4th rounder would be a decent pickups until we can draft a few stud dmen at draft
Toews
Hamhuis had significantly higher value than Vrbata.
1994_fan
I think Hamhuis is the only one worth trading at the deadline, and maybe not, if we are in a position to make it into the post season. I see Higgins, Hansen, Vrbata and Hamhuis all moved at the draft probably all for 2 and 3rd round picks.

Proclaiming we won't miss a beat if we shed all the contracts you dislike, is putting the cart before the horse.
Chalky
Hamhuis has not been a weak link, that's just crazy talk. Even if he is not worth his contract (which he is at 4.5), it doesn't mean he is a "weak link". He logs the toughest minutes and does a decent job as our number 1 guy given he is 2-3 guy on many teams. 4.5 mil may be a big salary for us schmoes, but in the big scheme, it's actually a deal. I won't be surprised to see him moved at the deadline if we are stinking up the division though, however, I suspect we will be OK this season as the roster is now.
