Ryan Kesler is overrated

'Beast Mode' is laughable. He had a career season and everyone thought that that was the real Kesler. He is a solid 2nd line center who is defensively responsible and can dial up the offence from time to time. Any coach would love that kind of player but if Anaheim fans think they got the 40 goal-scoring, Selke-winning Kesler, they are high. That guy peaked in 2011.

Did you watch the series vs chicago last year? This guy play his heart out until the last second of the game while his team mates checked out.

Nope. I don't watch many non-Canuck games but not surprisingly, I know what Kesler brings to the table as I did watch him when he played the majority of his career here. I watched him morph from a grinding center whose shot couldn't hit the broad side of a barn into a solid checking center with decent hands that he is now.

Ryan Kesler a shell of former self. Nothing in his game tonight. On for both EDM 3rd period goals. Just nothing there

JB looks more like a genius.  McCann is looking really good, and Sbiza is missed while he's out.  I think a lot of posters were actually saying that Kesler's contract extension was none too bright for Anaheim.
