who's the guy at #6? ::D

Hamhuis has been #1 on my list for the last couple of years but it's pretty close between Edler/Tanev/Hamhuis

IM sorry but Tanev>Edler

I think if they're both playing at the top of their respective games Edler deservedly gets the edge(better offensively and waaay better physically)

That being said I don't think either has looked as sharp as they could this season

  1. Edler because of his more balanced game.  He's probably the top offensive D and the 3rd defensive D and he can play physically.
  2. Hamhuis because he is 2nd offensively and 2nd defensively
  3. Tanev, 1st defensively, trying offensively
  4. Hutton, projecting here, like what I see
  5. Sbisa, physical presence, pizza delivery business is slowing down (I hope), want more consistency
  6. Bartkowski, haven't seen enough to rank him higher, like mobility and puck moving, want more consistency
  7. Weber,  like what he brings to the pp but seems to get picked on
  8. Corrado Biega

This isn't much of a poll if you've pre selected the top 3 by limiting us to 4 options.  Hutton doesn't belong in the contention when he's only played 6 games.

Mine are

Edler

Hamhuis

Tanev

Sbisa

Weber

Hutton

Bart

Looks about right. I agree that there is still a long ways to go before Hutton has a confirmed place. So far so good though.  Hamhuis and Tanev are pretty par (though very different players).

Ranking for this season alone...

Tanev....super solid and still some offensive upside

Hutton...fewer mistakes then all the rest and more offence.

Edler....some mistakes but super on defense so far (except giveaways but even that is less then usual)

Hammer...has had some bad misplays but is starting to come around

Bart....no more give aways then the above 2 and better rushing the puck

Sbisa....needs to get it together

Weber...needs to play

Edler

Hammer

Tanev

Hutton

Bart/Spis/Weber- Sorry, but none of these 3 stand out as "better overall" , only better at certain aspects than the others. Bart- Positioning and passing, Spis- Physicality, Weber-Offense. Just depends what ya need, I guess... I voted Bart, today.

BiegaBiega/Pedan.. Biega.

I have to admit that the more I watch Hutton the better I think he could be.  Just still getting his feet wet but his passing ability, and overall Hockey sense he has.  The only one better on this team right now is Tanev.

Elder is inconsistent and needs Tanev to steady him. Sbisa does cough up the puck a lot and it seems that Hutton is there to try and steady him the same way.  Hamhuis has been solid and Bartkowski can avoid the forecheck much better than his predecessor.

I keep reminding myself he's just a rookie and this is only 6 games but I am actually excited now about our defence group. Hutton keeps getting better

Did anyone on these boards actually know anything about this kid before training camp?  I certainly didn't.
