Ghostsof1915
Columbus has some great forwards, and a couple of great d-men, but defensive depth drops off radically.Hey wait a minute am I talking Columbus or Vancouver?
coryberg
I highly doubt they give us this years 2nd rounder.agreed. I'm betting they put it off until 2018
Mackcanuck
Aaron Portzline@Aportzline#CBJ coach John Tortorella is making players do pushups if a drill doesn't go well.

cripplereh
doesn't matter what draft we get our 2nd in , but if it is a top 50 pick means they could make the playoffs and we get a 2nd thats awesome for us!
TripleSedins
Any updates on our 2nd round compensation for Torts? Is there a deadline in which they must activate their choice of year the pick will come from?? I seem to recall one member posting in the trades forum, about it being this year but I cannot recall who and have no source to back that up. It's interesting to note that compensation for lost coaches in the form of draft picks came into effect in 2015 only to be removed the following year. See below: http://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/the-torts-trade-lives-on-for-another-year-columbus-hold-on-to-compensatory-pick No wonder this was taken out of play, what a nightmare to coordinate who gets what when. This info can be found anywhere, so far our picks look like: 1st Canucks [1 Sharks (Hansen Trade) (If Cup is won by SJ) ] 2nd Canucks [2 (From CBJ for Torts?) ] 3rd Canucks [4 To Oil (Oilers, "The Larsen Threshold" ??)] [4 Sharks (Hansen Trade) (If Cup is not won by SJ) ] [5 To Oil (Oilers, "The Larsen Threshold" ??)] 7th Best Case Worst Case 1st Canucks 1st Canucks 1st Sharks 2nd Canucks 2nd Canucks 3rd Canucks 2nd Jackets 4th Sharks 3rd Canucks 5th Canucks 4th Canucks 7th Canucks 7th Canucks Cheers! A conditional pick was traded to Edmonton sorry got it backwards will update. But still curious what those production thresholds would be at for a player like larsen . Most likely we will give up our 5th . Thanks!
Quantum
I'd reckon that the Canucks will be getting CBJ's 2nd rounder this year. CBJ is poised to make a good run in the playoffs (probably get to the 2nd round, at the very least) and so they probably won't want to part with next year's pick in the event they have a giant collapse. If things go according to plan and San Jose somehow wins the Cup, Canucks could have 2 firsts and 2 seconds at this year's draft. That's pretty insane. Especially after adding Goldobin (a 1st) and Dahlen (a second.) That's potentially 6 high picks.

Apparently the condition is Larsen plays a minimum of 42 games and scores at 0.3 ppg rate. So it looks like we will only be losing a 5th as long as Larsen misses a game from now until the end of the year.

Having sat in LA last night he can now max out at 41 games and therefore the condition will not be met and we will trade a 5th rounder.
