They thought Ibaka would be an all star level player so they felt Harden as a bench player and best 6th man in the league would just be another Ginobili and didn't pay him to keep him.

Man were they ever wrong Harden and Westbrook with Durant still there could have bested the Spurs and GSW for sure.

I remember hearing the owners cheaped out and didn't wanna pay the luxury tax or whatever. Could have kept all 4. Ended up with just 1. Sucks.

Raptors if they ever want to be true contenders need to complete their big 3.

They have DeRozan and Lowry they added Ibaka who is a good player but not an all star level guy.

Probably should have traded JV for Drummond in that rumored trade to get closer to a big 3 though imo.

Casey doesn't trust Valciuncas much late in games with minutes.

Drummond is so overrated. He's like a less athletic D Jordan. JV is a better fit imo.

Raps need to keep this unit together and hope they can break through in the next 2-3 years.

Folks want him gone in Detroit. Not a good sign.

How much better JV gets will be the key imo. He's their big man inside. If he can get his game to a more dominant level it will help everyone on the team.

Really looking forward to how he performw in the playoffs along with Powell and Wright as young guys who need to support the scoring of the vets.

They stepped up in key moments. Kobes last championship in 2010 Metta World Peace hit the shot.

Lakers had a better bench than LeBron has ever had. Even though you could say he has better support from Stars.

A lot of people forget the role that Robert Horry played on championship teams...

Heck, bodychecking Steve Nash off the court probably beat the Suns by itself...

Raps beat the Mavs 94-86 to extend their win streak to 5 games. They're firing on all cylinders right now. Didn't catch the game today and was really busy. DeRozan scored 18 and same with Ibaka who returns from his 1 game suspension so nice to see him continue where he left off. Patterson had a good game himself scoring 14 with 5 boards. Hope they keep it going vs Orlando! Go Raps

Not sure if this has been answered already but is there any word on what substance caused Joakim Noah to fail his drug test?

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18999562/joakim-noah-new-york-knicks-receive-20-game-suspension-violating-nba-anti-drug-policy

Quote

The National Basketball Players Association announced Saturday that neither Noah nor the union would appeal the suspension.

"We believe that this isolated occurrence was a regrettable mistake," the union announced in a statement. "Joakim has offered his deepest apologies for this infraction."

Noah, 32, tested positive for an over-the-counter supplement -- selective androgen receptor modulator LGD-4033 -- that is banned under the NBA's current collective bargaining agreement.

LGD-4033 is defined as a "non-steroidal, selective androgen receptor modulator that, much like testosterone, can create anabolic activity in muscles and bones" and "provides many of the muscle-building and therapeutic benefits of testosterone, without the same level of troublesome side effects," according to elitefitness.com

"Andro".  Isn't that what Mark McGire got caught with (in open sight actually) in his locker?

I really don't know.

It all seems really complicated for pro athletes to manage these banned substances, especially if your taking meds due to injurie.

Not saying this is the case here, but who knows

My take on the LBJ vs Black Mamba GOAT. Both have accomplished what they've needed to to become the players they have in the association. Kobe once he's on fire, there's no way of stopping him. You can never forget his 81 point performance vs our sucky Raps a decade ago. But Lebron has really stepped up. Has been in the finals with a East team for 7 consecutive year and led the Cavs to its first ever title last year in great fashion after trailing 3-1. He's been the MVP of this league for quite some time except for last year where Curry was just lights out. His Finals MVP trophies and rings all speak for himself and he has also has a good, polite demeanor. I would really like to meet this guy one day and ask for an autograph. I'd want a DeRozan and Lowry autographs before hand but I'd want to get one from the GOAT to ever play

Raps extend their win streak to 6 with another win over the Magic. DeRozan was electric yet again with 36 and he's averaged 34 over the last 5. Crazy! Ibaka scored 16 while Cory notched a double double with 15 and 13 dimes. JV also moved into 2nd all time in boards with 3006 boards recording a near double double with 17 and 9 boards. Powell and Poeltl also contributed 16 and 12 respectively. Hope they keep it going vs the Hornets! Go Raps

Good game in Portland Tonight, Nuggets and Blazers fighting it out for that 8th seed

Yeah. I like the Blazers to steal the final playoff spot in the West. They currently own it right now. They may not stand a chance against Curry and the Warriors but they have a chance of keeping it close. Nurkic has been a pleasant surprise and I actually like his game. Then you add Lillard, McCollum, Harkless into the picture and that team has the potential to upset. Probably not but who knows. That's why you play to win the game

Tough loss tonight for the Raps vs the Hornets 110-106. DeRozan was good scoring 28 while JV got another double double with 14 points and 15 boards. Came down to the wire as Bellinelli was clutch for the Hornets in the 4th while Walker and Williams hit a nail biting 3s late. Raps had the lead heading into the 4th but just fell short at the end. Hope they bounce back vs the Pacers! Go Raps

Such a weird game last night between the Spurs and Warriors... Spurs started up by as much as 22, only to have the Warriors tie things up at 45 and then win it at the end by 12... and it's not like the Spurs had major injuries but the Warriors (without Durant) managed to pull one out with the Splash Bros leading the way (Steph with 29 and Klay popping every chance he gets).  It'll be interesting to see the balance of power for the playoffs, with the Cavaliers admittedly not where they thought they would be, the Dubs not 100% and the Spurs consistent but having performances like yesterday.  Maybe the Celtics or another contender could surprise these 3?

Same here. Portland had a good lead now it's a 2 point game. It's going to be an exciting finish. Dame and Harden battling it out.

Raps take care of the Pacers 111-100. DeRozan with another 30+ point game and another 40 point performance. Almost pulled off a near double double with 9 boards.   JV notched his 28th double double of the season with 16 points and 17 boards. Ibaka continues to be solid with 15 points and 12 boards. Hope they build off this! Go Raps
