Vancouver Bans the Skipping of "Unlucky Numbers" For Floors on New Buildings

Finally, the City is acting on the overheated housing market.  Maybe now we can get cheaper prices on the 4th, 13th, and 14th floors

The funny thing is, I wouldn't doubt that reasoning going through Gregor's head. He is probably giving himself a pat on the back over that and figuring out how he can shift all the blame to the provincial and federal governments

Phonetically 4 sounds like "death" in Chinese. 5 sounds like "not".

5 is bad. 4 is bad. 54 is good.

Funny you mentioned 54 because Bob Rennie, the well known realtor, in the Vancouver Sun says he always have a 5 and a 4 on his licence plate because it sounds like "no death" in Chinese.

BTW, I also have a 54 on my licence plate.  Never knew it meant "no death".  I think I will keep it.
