Kazmanian Devil
The Canucks need to do what many successful teams in the past have done: Bring in players from outside North AmericaThe main name we need to pursue is clearly Kevin Dallman"An offensive-minded, puck-moving defenseman. Skates well, and is very mobile. Has a bomb from the point, and displays leader qualities. Is a bit undersized as a defenseman, which hurts him in battles for position and the puck." -eliteprospects-Highest scoring defenceman and fifth highest scoring player in KHL history-Five-time KHL all-star-Key player for his national team-Right-handed (massive need for the Canucks)-Power play specialist (another big need), over half of his goals have come on the PP-NHL experience (Former King and Bruin)-Speaks Russian, which will help Pedan, Tryamkin (Chara 2.0), and Zhukenov adjustSign him up for 1 year at $4,000,000 (Hamhuis salary)Also bring back Rodin (leading the Swedish league in scoring, just need a chance)Sign Lucic (7 years at $6,000,000 per)Trade Baertschi to Colorado for Borna Rendulic (big winger who's dying for a chance in the top 6)Next year's lineup:Sedin - Sedin - Rodin (Swedish connection)Lucic - Horvat - RendulicBurrows - Sutter - HansenPrust - McCann - VirtanenEdler - TanevPedan - Dallman (Russian connection)Sbisa - HuttonMarkstromCannata
BananaMash
I like this roster, I think it would contend for the cup in 2-3 years.

He's 34 years old, small, and essentially an older version of Yannick Weber (offensive-minded - check. right-handed - check. point bomb - check. struggles in battles - check). Just because Kevin's an All-Star and productive player overseas doesn't mean we should throw $4 million and a top-4 spot in the NHL at a guy like him.For context, former NHL greats like Nigel Dawes, Geoff Platt and Canucks legend Cam Barker (remember him?) are among the league leaders in scoring in the K. Might as well bring them all over to help with our scoring?
Kazmanian Devil
Great shout on Dawes, wouldn't mind signing him up, put him on a line with Virtanen and McCann

No matter what Benning, Linden and Willie are saying, this team is not about now. It's about 2-3 years down the road and any 34 year old UFA signing from the KHL is about as likely to happen as the next blood moon. Kevin Dallman...that was a good one, wasn't it? Kazmanian Devil
You guys are underrating the power of the Kazakh market.Sign Dallman and all of Kazakhstan will be cheering for the Canucks. If that doesn't get the boys pumped I don't know what will

bigbadcanucks
They are similar, although Kazakh power is of a far lower magnitude.I think the Canucks need a lot more sporty spice and scary spice...and a whole lot less of baby spice and posh spice. The gingers seem to be sputtering along getting a goal here, a goal there (except for the break out game they had in Columbus) all the while blowing defensive assignments...so maybe a little more ginger spice would be a good thing. But Dallman...c'mon man. You can find someone better than Dallman to bait CDC.
