Bieksa shows up, and plays a tough game.  I think we all remember the Calgary game, where he took Lain's place up front, so the kid didn't have to take on a goon.

Or as his detractors would put it: "Picking his spots".

Agree that juice spotpicks but yeah Fisher is a pretty underrated fighter

Really - what's this about Juice spotpicking?  He's fought outside his weight class most of his career.

And btw, he gives up 15 or 20 lbs on Fisher, so not sure what the pbp dude was talking about.

Juice said that he himself likes to pick his spots some times.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Don't want to see Bieksa taken off the ice against a Hordichuk or Reaves.

Plus, if you look at Bieksa's fight card since 09 (when other fans started calling him out on spotpicking) he has fought some notable opponents but has alot of punching bags like Kostopoulus, Voros, Adams, Boyle, Crombeen and non fighters like Brouwer, Stalberg, Johnson, etc. on his fight card.

It was even more obvious in the Boston series. He was acting like a quiet scared dog during most of that series.

He's a tough customer no doubt, but does pick his spots sometimes.

Hordichuck was our worst enforcer ever

Yes he is not weak and he fights on a rare occasion. What I mean is he isn't classified as a fighter.

Also notice who Bieksa was going after originally? Super heavy weight Craig Smith, who doesn't have a single NHL fight in his entire career.

As I've said numerous times before, a spot picking coward. Really confuses me how so many Canucks fan can still blindly support this guy.

It's the same fanbase that heralded Backup Eddie

Nice play KB2

It's funny that one post after this someone claims that people "blindly support" Bieksa, when this is just blind criticism. Lets blame Juice for not being able to clear the puck when his defense partner is the one who teed it up for the Kings forward....

Obviously it wasn't solely his fault, but that whiff was pretty hilarious and is par for the course for Bieksa these days. Don't get your panties in such a knot.

Here's some nostalgia for you

This was like the 3rd or 4th time Toews has dropped the gloves this year.  He also leads the team in PIM's thus far.  Its been a much more irritable Captain Serious to start the season. But it my opinion....it doesn't hurt to see the captain throw a few fists every now and then.

What garbage officiating... Let em fight ffs. Absolute garbage. I don't get this... You got two guys collectively making close to 18 million a year, why not let them fight?

Lolz at the blown lead by the ducks last night

Great KB2 giveaway that led to the Hawks hemming the Ducks in their zone and scoring the tying goal

And of course, no game would be complete without the KB2 sprawl

Massive fail by pretty much everyone there

Almost feel sorry for Ducks fans...almost
