Who will be the next coach of the Vancouver Canucks

Honestly, i'm not sure what a lot of the people that are panicking expected out of this team.

Look at the roster, really look at it.  It's not that pretty and you can only gift wrap it so much before someone realizes its not the sparkly present that they really wanted it to be.

The club got off on the right foot, which is great but we are quickly coming back down to earth and the euphoria some were experiencing is wearing off.  This is fine, and mostly expected for those of us that started the season with tempered expectations.  It's not the season where we win the Cup and it may be a challenge even to win a playoff spot, that is the reality and no amount of optimism or disappointment in the players/coaches is going to change that.

Just watch the games and support your team, win or lose.

Tend to agree. I mean really. How many times can you loose a hockey game in the exact same way before somebody above you says enough is enough. Classic example in the third tonight. Baertschi has a great shift. His reward? He gets stapled to the pine for 8 minutes. Even the announcers made mention of it. Great shift and now he sits?? No sooner do they say that and he comes on the ice and generates one of the best scoring chances for the Canuck sin the third period. I believe it was Horvat that couldn't convert the set up by Burrows after Baertschi did all the work. Where does he go? You guessed it. Back to shinning the pine with his butt. Game after game after game after game. Same. Same Same. Shorten the bench. Go to the vets. Sit the kids. Vet coughs it up. Canucks loose. If the kids coughed up the puck as much as the vets have this season, they would NEVER see the ice, yet vet aftervet after vet gets a free pass for crappy play and the kids sit. (???) YET!! It's the kids that are here to replace the vets that are screwing up. I wonder what the kids are learning and what must be going through their minds when they see their so called "mentors" playing like crap and coughing up the puck all over the ice? When the kids finally do see the ice they have zero confidence or little idea what to do because they already know that if are even within 20 feet of a puck that gets coughed up or turned over they ride the pine for the next 10 minutes. (??)

Willie? Hello? WE ARE LOOSING! It's the vets and YOUR decisions that are costing us games! Play the kids!! Sit the vets!! We may still loose but I guarantee you it will be more exciting and much less predictable than what's been going on for the first 20 games of this season.

I have to agree, the same reason we lost to Calgary in the playoffs. One coach was able to make adjustments and adapt in game and from game to game and one could not.

Bush league rookie AHL coach and it shows.

Looks lost out there, sometimes shaking on the bench and he is supposed to be the leader of the team. What a joke!

He sits the hard working players down, plays his favorited, seems like he is cooking the same recipe over and over, producing the same crappy pie!

You folks want change, then create change. Send a message to the greedy ownership group, don't go to the games, don't buy merchandise, don't renew season tickets and see how fast Green becomes our coach!

WD has been fine.  It is his AHL D core that needs to improve.  Edler and Tanev are not top pairing D man yet that's the role they're currently in.  Hamhuis is on a steep decline he can't even keep his balance. Hutton looks fatigue and is actually regressing. Bart. and Weber don't even belong in this league.  Plus he is stuck with a primadonna goalie that has to be constantly coddled like a toddler, he is being set up to fail.  Horvat has looked awful, sorry but it's the truth, and he doesn't look anything close like a 2nd line center we all wanted him to be.  Vrbad's and higgy have no place on this team.

You don't start building the foundation of something only to stop working on it and begin again on another lot a year and a half later.

Willie is a rookie NHL coach with just over 100 games coached.  Not many coaches are successful in their first hiring.  Willie will learn but does Linden have the permission to stay with him?  Willie seems smart enough but like players he is probably looking at his mistakes and is now second guessing himself. Before we get too down on Willie don't forget the Canucks are rebuilding and this adds to the challenge. Coaching in the NHL is a big step up from the AHL and it does take experience which is learned with games coached over a number of years.  Good luck Willie and hopefully you will get a few wins.

I am same page as you but do have one question can you teach a 58 year ole dog new tricks?

How long will it take him to adjust an learn from past mistakes ,it is a bit arrogant to not line match with the group he has after all he should be game ready broken in a 100 games under his belt .He seems to have overwound up the clock in essence every one is jumping on his cue he is too twitchy an resulting in almost mixed messages which  may be by design to throw everyone off as he has second guessed himself he may be smart almost to smart as to outsmart himself at this point.Seems he wound the young guys up so much as to put added pressure on the vets to deliver an save the day ,an they cannot do this he needs to regroup his whole team an try be real good an get them back on track.

Dunno about you, but I'm more worried about taking in 25000 Syrian "refugees" to western Canada than anything that happens on the hockey score sheet.

Wtf does that have to do with hockey?

Way to go.  Buy into the fear.  You should keep your TV off unless you're watching games.

This thread is stupid. If thats the case, Many of them should been fired very longtime ago. Yes, I know its been a frustrating road trip. But, Its not a reason to fire WD. The first thing to do should be fire you out of this forum, if your thread is intended to troll.
