Tre Mac
I have no knowledge of US geography particularly the state of NY but it's too bad Utica could not be involved somehow, they have quite the following for our farm team and co-hosting a tourney like this would help further market the future of hockey in 'merica. Warhippy
I just read that there may indeed be an outdoor game between team Canada and team USA. The thing is though, apparently it will not be a preliminary game and would be during the actual tournament. And while it may generate a ton of cash for the IIHF it is absolute crap. That's in the snow belt where a foot every 90 minutes is not unheard of, temperatures can hover well below freezing, bad ice, bad visibility and a chance at injury. Ya no. I am not a fan of this either. Sprinkled into an 82 game season I can see. In a short tournament. Nope.

While that would be neat, there are so many other AHL teams in New York state. Utica's halfway across the state (towards Albany) and Rochester and Syracuse are both closer to Buffalo.
