John isn't a very fond favourite. He ticked off the nobles and they made him sign the Magna Carta which took a lot of power from the royal family. Nuxfanabroad
I'm writing a book entitled, 'Hobblin Rude'. Essentially the opposite of the RH-theme, whereby world gov'ts sh*tkick the poor, taking blood from a stone, & relay all proceeds to the elite.(it's non-fiction)

Industrious1
According to damn near every friend I have with English/Scottish ancestry....they are part of some noble family with a castle somewhere in the hinterlands. Was never really sure if they actually knew it for sure....or just had some older relative tell them that and it stuck with them through the years. TimberWolf
Prince John was responsible for the Magna Carta. That's not too bad. The Viscount of Montrose is one of mine. He was played by John Hurt in that Rob Roy movie. Also one of the bad guys. I would have a hero in Braveheart but he wasn't depicted in the movie. Scottish⑦Canuck
I'm also a descendant of Robert the Bruce... like 20+ generations back or something. A family member did the research a few years ago. I still have the details. Then again, thousands and thousands of people could say the same. So I'm very, very distantly related to Smithers Joe. We had a conversation about it on here a few years ago. Pretty interesting.

Lancaster
Practically everyone is a descendant of someone rich and powerful in the past. I guess technically one of my ancestor was the emperor of China, lol. This kinda reminds me of how almost every US President is a descendant of King John. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_royal_candidate_theory

We had a conversation about it on here a few years ago. Pretty interesting. I'm not related to any of the historically famous leaders and tough guys you all proclaim to be. I can tell you this though (and this is fact: Internet existed on my home planet - Melmac - long before here) that a red caped guy with abs of steel is apparently in my bloodlines. I guess when His home planet went KABOOM, this red caped man of steel (or so my great hand mother called him) spent a transitional period amongst my people, blending in, so those looking for him - couldn't find him. I guess I shouldn't be shocked, considering the resemblance. I don't wear black rimmed glasses, because of the fear the ones chasing him, might mistakenly get me. I don't really trust bald guys either. Bald women scare me too, but I thinks that's not just me. I better take my medication.
