desiboynux4lifee*******
this injury is bad, 1st obviously the fact that Hamius or any player should not go through that type of injury. The injury looked bad, about 5-6 months and second, it also hurts our team overall eg in play and third it hurts our chances of getting some prospects. It's simply bad luck for this management and us fans.
avitan
Ouch! Have to feel for Hammer-that was nasty. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. You are a class act on and off the ice and hope you remain a Canuck.

That was a brutal shot he took, really tough watching him laying on the ice. Get well Hammer. He's also on record as saying that if he suffers another one, he's going to retire. Hopefully this isn't the case. From what I saw, I don't think a concussion occurred. Hammer looked to be in considerable pain, (as a guy who has taken three pucks to the face in my playing days, I can commiserate) but he didn't look woozy. He's going to be lost to the team for a while, but hopefully he'll make a full recovery and be back playing before too long.

Yeah I remember that, I think it was after he got smashed into the boards/glass by Getzlaf in 2011.
DIBdaQUIB
Wish Dan all the best. This will be along and painful recovery. It didn't look like a concussion but considering he has gone on record as saying he would retire if he got another one, a seriously injury like this and a long recovery may just have him (and ,more importantly his family) thinking of packing it in. Canada Hockey Place
Any updates would be appreciated. What a nightmare. The way he was kicking the ice after he went down... i hope it's not as bad as it looked. And hope to see him back soon.
westcoast
NHL players shoot so hard they almost rely on each other being very accurate with those shots. Not too often they miss that high and wide.Pretty brutal injury.

I think he was kicking the ice so that the officials and everyone on the ice could quickly realize how serious it was. Looked like a two year old throwing a tantrum though lol, not that I am at all downplaying the severity of that injury.
Mcfly
This wouldn't be the first time Hammer took a tough injury. Didn't he break his leg in the Boston finals, hip checking Lucic. Best wishes Hammer
Coconuts
Apparently he suffered a facial fracture, he'll be undergoing surgery. Timeline undecided as of yet. http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/907431

("Looked like a two year old throwing a tantrum though lol")??? He has a broken jaw & will probably be eating thru a straw for the next months. Nothing at all to be LOL at... Positive Canuck
Terrible and unlucky break for Hammer. It was almost like he sensed something was enroute. Might be his last game as a Canuck and even NHLer. He's gonna have an awful month or 2. Hopefully he gets world class health care and not the garbage I've seen lately in Vancouver and can be made comfortable while he heals. Dans made enough money to be o.k down the road, ill support whatever decision him and his family make as far as retiring after this. best of luck hammer. I'd wager they never joke about it again.
