With an incredibly weak Pacific, Benning should load up for one more Sedin run

I'm on the fence with this. In one way, I would love to see Benning pull tricks out of his butt and make some big splash trades, bring in actual scorers and one or two better D than we have. But unless he trades a few prospects and picks, it ain't gonna happen. And from what I understand, he cherishes those prospects and picks dearly and will not part with them. So, would it be worth it to take the chance by trading a few prospects and picks to improve the team enough for a playoff run? No way. We would all be screaming for Benning's head by May 1st. It's a process and I trust Benning. Too bad for the Sedins, and the rest of the old core, but they had their chance 5 years ago. Maybe when the Sedins are 40 and each sign a (discount) $1 million contract play on the second line, we could get back there. Horvat will be entering his prime, Baertschi, McCann, Hutton and Virtanen would be right there as well. Thatcher Demko could play lights out for us, Subban could be the best Subban yet (according to PK he will be). There is hope, but I wouldn't panic and trade away the future so the Sedins could try it again this year.

Lol these threads always pop up after an emotional win.  Reality check though stellar goal tending and goofy reffing won us the last game.  We didnt even muster up more than 7 shots in each of the first two periods and only managed 11 in the third due to a bunch of power plays.  This is not a winning formula. Ill check back on this thread after our 5 game road trip...if I can find it 10 pages back behind all the blow it up and fire the coach threads.

Bump.....lol already two pages back and this is only two games into the road trip....Does this mean we're not loading up for a cup run.
