Yannick Weber Frustration Thread

Weber in = guaranteed loss

Weber has struggled big, and when he has been in the lineup the Canucks have too. He simply brings down not only his defensive partners play but the rest of the Canucks skaters play, with his play.

If we're gonna be a team that rewards players based on merit then Weber needs to sit out for a few games. Other guys deserve a real chance to play and show us what they've got.Injuries or not.

Is it really worth playing Weber, and disregarding his poor play, at the expense of the team and only because we want to raise his trade "value". And he really has no trade value! So while we're working so diligently to pump Webers tires before trade deadline, we are losing a great chance to really see what truly we have and what we truly need going forward.

Knowing what we have and what we need will also help us plan for the trade deadline, the draft and free agency - in targeting and putting forth a plan for acquiring a certain player or type of player-- and we can be efficient and quick  in our rebuild/retool or whatever.

I really hope there's a forward-looking plan by management that not only worries with the present dealings, but also the future landscape of the NHL contracts and free agents 1-3 years down the road, to better forecast and prepare/plan for possible scenarios which will come up.

Yes. Great job reading the rest of the post too.

I don't need to read the rest when you say he's a "powerplay specialist" lmao.

Literally anybody could be playing on the point and still be better than him, I'd even use Jannik Hansen's slapshot over his.

This guy does not deserve to be in the NHL at all, he just got carried by the Sedins last year and in 2011-12 by Plekanec and Pacioretty.

You're not to bright are you?

I specifically said he is a #7 guy. Shouldn't be in the line up unless absolutely necessary.

We are in AGREEMENT that he sucks yet you continue on.

Unfortunately, last year, he was considered a PP specialist. He did some how manage to score 11 times.

Regardless, I am the last person that wants him in the line up.

anyone who defends weber should be repeatedly hit in the balls with an acme brick

Haha, sorry for laughing but this is too funny. But we are all fans here so I will suggest this instead -  weber should be repeatedly hit in the balls with an acme brick each and every time he causes a turnover.

People need to remember he is a #7 guy at best. An occasional fill in and PP specialist. NOTHING more than that.

Not his fault WD is set on putting him constantly in the line up and mostly in the top 4.

He should be playing ONLY when injuries occur.

Don't blame Weber, blame WD for playing him and JB for giving him an extension....and an overpaid one at that.

This.  The thread should be a WD Frustration thread, but we already have a couple versions.... Why Twitchy continues to use this ECHL level defender is beyond me...
