EDIT: Just saw your user name, no we don't.

cuz im odd ;p

Anyways, to answer your question, we don't have guys that are really physical other than Sbisa who's currently injured, Dorsett, and Prust. You need everyone contributing in the hits department if you want to be a physical team. We don't have that kind of players and so this physical mojo isn't exactly going to help an already deteriorating team that isn't very big.

Sedins will not hit. Burrows is more of the trash talker type guy that'll shy away from fights but grind it out. Hansen hits occasionally but not a consistent basis which is okay considering his game is evolving from a 3rd line grinder to a 2nd line 40-50 point get guy. Higgins doesn't hit, likes to play in the hard areas though. Baertschi is too 'small' and hitting/physical isn't in his game. Horvat/McCann play feisty but aren't hitters nor are they overwhelmingly physical.  (Horvat an exception as he does attempt to hit). Virtanen is physical but far too inconsistent.

It's why I'm kinda high on potential FA's Andrew Ladd and Milan Lucic.

Or we can accept the fact that our top 2 centers are out, and our top 4 defencemen is out.

Even with them back, we may still fail here and there. Patience... We will be back to being a contender one day.

How long have they been out? Days? Weeks?

How long have we been being abused? Years? Decades?

I'd love for this team to be physical , but as said above we don't have the right guys. Half the team steers clear of contact.  IMO  is Vancouvers ultimate weekness. Big teams are gonna kick our butts and bounce us out of the playoffs every year until we can have a team that can play any style any given night.

I can't wait to see the next game vs the ducks and then Boston. Even still this team isn't gonna acquire anyone to help in that department or any department till trade deadline or next summer. That's the way its looking anyway. Hate the base the team on the Detroit redwing mentality.

The Canucks don't have the highend skill to be the Redwings Blackhawks,Stars or Lightning.

They should stop trying and just be a well rounded team.

Troy Brouwer is a better skater than Lucic and actually can get in on the forecheck and is a local guy.

If Lucic signs an extension in L.A then Brouwer is a cheaper more realisticoption for the Canucks in the summer.

There's this guy sitting in our press box for the last 4 games; maybe you've heard of him. His name is Ronalds Kenins and in 2 games he has more hits than Sven Baertschi has had all season. and is about as talented offensively, at least statistically. He might help in this department.

Sorry OP but only an idiot would look at our team and suggest we "get physical" on opponents.

15 of our 24 player roster (not including the goalies) are under 200 lbs, 7 of them are under 190lbs. 9 of the 24 are 6'-0" or under.

3 of our most physical players in the 24 are not even fit to play until probably the New Year.

What part of these stats suggests we should get physical to you?

Please don't start any more threads until your eyesight has improved.

Ronalds kind of forgot what got him to NHL,the "Latvian Bowling Ball" has been MIA for quite some time now...As to a comparison to Baertschi, there is none..Completely different skill sets.
