Sure he's having a down year, but it makes no sense from the league's perspective.

Maybe pro wrestling? A lot of sentiment is that this silly-ass move might have killed the all-star game for good, all because they were being trolled. Agreed, the fans have made a mockery out the All Star game (which has become irrelevant..IMO )...I bet in their heart of hearts, most of the players selected would prefer the time off. Blueberries
Leaving off Crosby is a massive mistake, considering he's probably the only household name in the States amongst NHL players.
khay
The actual roster selection is a whole lot better than the garbage roster projected by Frank Seravalli. This guy chose Miller, who is injured and barely over .900% to be our representative when Daniel is top 10 in scoring. And then, realizing how stupid he was, he changed that selection to Edler (http://www.tsn.ca/projecting-the-nhl-all-star-game-rosters-1.396371). The NHL letting the fans do it is the real mockery of the event, but it's been heading down this path for awhile, due to desperation. Just reeks of world wrestling shenanigans and really, it's pretty symbolic of where the league is at these days.

Hard to beat that lineup. That being said, I still think this All-Star format is a joke.
RyIe
Props to Daniel. He and Henrik will now be even in all star appearances. Also the players selected really highlights how weak the pacific has gotten.
LuckyLuciano
I would have loved to see the Sedin twins and Gaudreau our together cycling away. Not a fan of Halls game but each team gets a player and he's got the numbers. Brodie should have made it over Giordano. Schnieder and Luongo making the all stars is a bit of a bummer. John Scott will need to injure a few players. Hope the team locks Daryl Sutter out of the dressing room. Central Div looks really good but hopefully Benn and Seguin get drunk with Kane beforehand. AlphaHoneyBadger
With the fewest wins in the league, why would anyone be surprised by this? All Star game should be for teams in playoff positions only.
RUPERTKBD
I agree with RNT. The Central looks like the class of the tournament. The Mets might have a chance too...

Ossi Vaananen
Minus Scott, not a bad roster. I still won't watch it. I'd venture to say the Pacific has the best D in the league.

Dekey Pete
Sure there are a few questionable choices but I like the direction the All Star game is headed this year. And by that I mean it is a divisional based tournament (kind of like the old east vs. west). When you have a team selected at random by captains the fans have no allegiance to the team at all, which is why I believe a lot of people stopped caring altogether. I will definitely be rooting for the Pacific team this year. 3 vs. 3 I'm still not so sure about, but we'll just have to see. It could be very entertaining. NUCKER67
I think Daniel should call in sick. The All-Star game is a joke. Used to be a time when the players took the All-Star game seriously, a lot of pride on the line. Nowadays, players like Scott are being named team captain. He really has no business even being there, unless he buys a ticket like everyone else in the stands. This game is basically a social event for the players and similar to wrestling. The kids buy it, but we all know they aren't really trying.
