poetica Posted January 8, 2016 Share Posted January 8, 2016 Capitals forward Johansson suspended two games Quote Washington Capitals forward Marcus Johansson has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey during NHL Game No. 601 in New York on Thursday, Jan. 7, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today. The incident occurred at 8:42 of the first period. Johansson was assessed a minor penalty for illegal check to the head. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Johansson will forfeit $40,322.58. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
