Usually don't post on here......but I am thinking of food!

Name your favorite 3 meals

1. Seafood Medley.........prawns, scallops, halibut and salmon with baby carrots, and raspberry vinaigrette salad

2. Baby Back Ribs (all you can eat!)

3. Mac and cheese, ketchup on top ( I survived on this for my early 20's)

MMMMMMMMmmmmm!

Best thread you've started...

(1) Beef tenderloin in peppercorn and/or bernaise sauce with garlic mashed or doubled baked potatoes

(2) Assortment of sushi, rolls, sashimi and tuna tataki

(3) Seafood linguine (sort of like your seafood medley in a tomato sauce).

If these were the only foods I have to eat the rest of my life, I would be a happy man.

Dinner

Hey, the meal I'm usually having at this hour (late night snack) would like a word with you.  Those cravings make any food at this time seem like the best thing you've ever had when you're hungry.

mmm... drooling mentally, that sauce with steak would also be awesome (or make that surf and turf!)

(2) Assortment of sushi, rolls, sashimi and tuna tataki yes a definite staple for me too!

hearty pasta for the most part is good with rich sauces and good meats/ cheeses.  actually hearty pasta alone is so bomb already

If these were the only foods I have to eat the rest of my life, I would be a happy man.

Yeah I think you nailed three of my top picks too.

1)  Moms Christmas/Thanksgiving dinner , the next one is so far away....

2)  grilled Rib Steak and lobster with loaded baked potato and veggies

3) I had a gyro on the side of the road 50K outside of Athens once. It was amazing, it was 25 years ago, and every single gyro/wrap since then has sucked in comparison. It was a little shack of a place, cost next to nothing but I would eat that every day till it killed me. Disclaimer: I MAY have been stoned and hungover at the time.

Homemade cabbage rolls..make my own sometimes but they are time consuming..once made you can freeze half for another time...dont forget the sour cream..mmmmmm

Homemade fish and chips..my wife made the best..beer batter and fresh cod...

Moms roast beef..mashed potatoes..veggies and gravy...meat was always so tender and good..and of course no one can cook like your mom...some meals just never leave your memory.

pretty basic I guess...stopped eating meat about 3 years ago..but still eat fish and chicken..

Hard to top three it but over the holidays I did:

crusted prime rib roast with a shallot gravy from scratch, golden baked potatoes, parsnips and carrots

chicken alfredo pasta from scratch

Bbq home made burgers are definitely in my top 3

all meals washed down with beer, though I drank a good share of whiskey and wine as well.

Yeah, I might have to move the Mac and cheese down the list, some of you guys have some good choices

Somehow, I think we can't put MOM'S roast beef dinner with the Boobies! Just seems wrong! LOL

Mom actually has her own menu I would kill for all......Roast Beef dinner, Chicken and Noodles, Fish n Chips, Pancake dinner, Pineapple upside down cake, Cinnamon Buns.......God no wonder I am always hungry!

I miss them all! Mom's to old to be doing much cooking....so enjoy while you can!

My dad just made this the other dad. One of the few things he will cook. Its on my list as well.

  1. Any braised meat but I will go with short ribs braised in maple syrup (think meat candy) with roasted carrots and beets and mashed potatoes with sweet corn.
  2. Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, gravy and roasted potatos
  3. Beef tenderloin in peppercorn sauce, asparagus, salad.
