Rocksterh8
Denny is a good man, he apologized of his own good will even tho he didn't have too. He should be commended for his thoughtfulness and understanding.

alfstonker
The guy apologised. That is what most of us wanted, why can't we just accept it graciously. It appears, to me at any rate it wouldn't have mattered what his apology consisted of it would not have been enough for some on here. It sounds to me like he may have been reprimanded but as he says there was a lot of disappointment at his end and sometimes people who should know better get carried away. I understand Burr made a similar apology over something he said. Are people to put no stock in that one either? As fans, lets take a leaf out of our Captains book and show a bit of class. Nuxfanabroad
The DPS should suspend him for a lengthy period. Include explanatory video: "As Daniel is mobbed by his teammates, we can see he's in a vulnerable position for a nasty verbal-shot. Potvin has PLENTY of time to look at the numbers..his Cats are de-fanged. He conciously makes a cheap remark(shooting from the hip, as he's wont to do), then drives it home with utter, finger-lickin'-banality, which even left his admirers cringing. Daniel was un-injured from the slight; yet the league's credibility was further decimated. DP has made a career of this." The D of PS has decided to suspend disbelief & demote Denis Potvahhn to the ECHL.
Industrious1
Apology given, and I doubt Daniel gives a rat's @$$ what Potvin thinks anyways. Good enough for me.
*Buzzsaw*
Potvin was a great player, hall of fame defenseman who was the best in the league for a couple years. But he was definitely opinionated, even pissed off his team-mates at times when he was Captain. But at the same time he was smart enough to know how to lead a team to 4 Cups. He shot his mouth off a couple times back then, he did it again on Monday, once again smart enough to realize he was mistaken in his off the cuff remark. I'll give that to him, hopefully he practices the '1,2,3,' rule of thinking before speaking in the future.

While you're correct about his caveman brain and no chance of an apology. You have to admire his path to the NHL. The guy was a 7th round pick and then toiled NINE seasons in the minors chucking knuckles for a paycheque before becoming an NHL regular. He's now in his 10th NHL season. That's at least a little impressive.

He's just embarrassed because McKenzie and LeBrun called him and the rest of the losers in the league out for treating the Sedins so poorly. What a chucklehead. Love the double standards around here, People call out the Canucks saying this is the same as what Burrows did and fans say that it's OK because Burrows apologized. Now that potvin has apologized it's "he's just covering his ass" or "wasn't sincere enough" Move on

Darius
Im willing to bet that Potvin has barely seen the Sedins play. He got heated and he said something stupid- like a true homer. It wasnt professional, he apologized. Time to move on. Personally Im more critical of guys like Spector and Cox who watch western conference teams all the time and continue to say stupid things about the Canucks. These guys are supposed to be pros and journalists. Clowns at best. As for thornton - he wont be remembered 12 hours after he hangs up the skates. He rode on the backs of others and was a fourth line thug - one of about 2,000 guys who have played that same role in NHL history. Its truly funny that he (a nobody) would be name calling art ross winners.
