The thing that weirds me out is why they came to Canada for the procedure, and are Canadian citizens sitting on some waiting list because of it? Has this already been answered?

Why not? Alot of people travel to other countries for treatment depending on where the best doctors/treatments are.

Why is it weird they came to Vancouver for treatment? Maybe they were referred to by their doctor in UK?

I doubt Canadian citizens are sitting on some waiting list, its not like they're waltzing in and using up Public Heathcare for this, they're paying for the treatment procedure.

if they went to a mall in sanbernardino or boston and did the same thing, then the reaction there could be by a shoot first investigate later approach. could,ve happened authority has to re-act to this even if it embarrass,s us for the assumption

Something wrong?

Not really other than the fact post was to incite responses. Maybe emotionally charged ones. Especially since you didn't even know what that was suppose to mean - and you said it. Mods might consider that trolling; they have before. I am rarely baited by such things however.

Anyway, don't be a dick, fellow baby eater.

not sure what your response has to do with my post.

Might want to check if you're quoting the correct post before replying, thanks.

Because it is hard to believe that the UK doesn't have equal or better treatment providers. Do you really believe that Vancouver was the ideal destination and that they couldn't obtain treatment in one of: London, Paris, New York, Toronto? All of these destinations are much closer and on the face of it, more likely to have better experts.

I'm not saying that they don't have a right to come to Vancouver to get a procedure, I'm just saying that most reasonable people would find it odd that they would come here instead of a more convenient location.

ya i guess your right so where was paul blart when u really need him. no seriously its to bad they couldn't have notified authority sooner so the thing didn't go the way it did.  good thing it did,nt happen in boston , things might have been different.some pretty trigger happy cops down in the lower 48

They weren't contacted by the police.  They found this stuff out through the media just like us (they're not even from here) and notified the police within, what, 24 hours of it being leaked?  Again, they are decent people just trying to do the right thing as opposed to the media scumbags and the scumbags who jumped to conclusions.

Seriously? You have no idea who they saw, what kind of specialist, if it was about timing, if they had other reasons etc... You guys are being so ridiculous.

Exactly. I have no idea. I want to know. Why is this so hard to understand? A curious circumstance exists, and I'd like to have an answer. In no way am I calling these individuals terrorists, I just think that addressing pretty simple questions would alleviate concerns that some people are clearly showing.

Yeah but you're putting the onus on them to explain themselves because you feel uncomfortable. You're making your issue their problem.

It's not 'my issue'. I have no issue. They can go about their business and I don't have any worries whatsoever. If I'm in a room asking those three my question and they tell me that it is a medical issue and therefore none of my business, fine. However, I'm not going to feel guilty for asking a reasonable question that would help put the story to bed.

My guess would be the cost, same reason you'll see some Canadians go to Mexico or other third world countries for a procedure which would cost more here. $$$$$$$
