Spotted Zebra
They said they viewed him as developing into a fourth line forward and he's awfully light if that's what they expected. Makes sense.

Monty
As the resident Jets fan, not sure where he fits in for the future. Aside from the benefit of having someone choose to sign in Winnipeg, I'm not sure where his future will be on the team. Unless he can somehow elevate his game, he'll be in tough competition. With Ehlers cemented next season as the first line LW, and Kyle Connor penciled in as the second line LW, he has an awful lot of work ahead of him. Lowry/Petan look to take turns occupying the 3rd line C/LW duty together, while Brendan Lemieux looks to make a serious push for 4th line next season. Obviously hope nothing but the best for him, and this is great news for a team that has been making great strides in building up one of the best prospect pools in the NHL since arriving in 2011
Mr.53
We have a lot of forward prospects. We need to focus on D. Still, I would have loved to have seen the brothers get a game in together

Jägermeister
I never understood what the hype behind him here was, and watching him play in the Frozen Four qualifying didn't answer any questions I had. He's 24, small, and really didn't stand out at all. Might make a decent depth player.

With Horvat, Baertschi, McCann, Granlund, Virtanen, Vey, Etem, and Gaunce now NHLers except maybe McCann and Gaunce needing time in the AHL, we do not have hardly any forward prospects... Have a look... LW C RW Kenins Friesen Rodin Labate Zalewski Grenier Blomstrand Cassels Boeser M. Stewart Zhukenov Jasek B. Sweatt (RFA) Pettit Gaudette Beattie We we need to add more playmaking wingers especially. Enough 2-way forwards/Centers.

DeNiro
Good we have enough players lie him in the system, no point burning another contract. Zalewski brings the exact same skillset and has earned his shot next season.
Salmonberries
No offer. Well, it's a timely reminder that we have to remember the Benning factor when considering all of this. Considering Benning this college free agent shopping season we're could end in frustration very much like the trade deadline. It's probably worth considering the possibility of a complete failure to sign players in this situation ahead of time rather than pulling your hair out later. Gaudette Celly
One year two-way is about as minimal as it gets. We have too many NHL-level bottom 6 as it is anyway. Perhaps the Jets gave him more assurance of NHL opportunity.
saucypass
Was never interested anyways. Good for Brandon Tanev and the Jets.

Or maybe there's better UFA targets out there that he's targeting that actually represent something we need.
Gerbera
Honestly, if not for the last name of Tanev, I doubt half the ppl on CDC even cares if he signed with the Canucks.... All the best to him and hopefully he can follow Chris' footsteps and become a good NHL player.
HKSR
Don't worry about it! We got the Wayne Gretzky of the Tanev family. The Jets got Brent.
