He also said the federal government would waive requirements for standardized tests of school-aged children as schools have been shuttered in many states. Of the loan payments, the president suggested the grace period could be extended if necessary. As someone who works in the education field, I applaud this move and hope that Canada announces something similar. As you pointed out earlier, these things contribute to the overall debt, but I believe they're necessary.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they did. Absolutely our view on politics is staunchly different but admittedly I'm accepting the government of the day as the government of the day at a leaving politics out of it and hoping they are doing the same. Like I said this package will add massive to the debt but in my opinion it's not enough. I also think going into the next election whenever that may be in this country that no party can hold that against this government as they had no choice and every other government would have done the same or let's hope they would have.

It's just like people calling for martial law in Canada which will require the prime minister to suspend everyone's rights. I won't say if it's the right move or even give my opinion on it however for people to think there wouldn't be a political decision behind that are delusional. When this all ends all the talk would be about how he imposed martial law and took away everyone's rights not really sure any prime minister wants that on their record. I feel like times like this we all need to come together no matter who the leader is and do what's best for the nation.

Turns out her husband is just a crappy investor. As for the other Senators. They haven't done anything illegal. Is it moral or ethical? That's an entirely different question. It is and let me start off by admitting that this is an opinion piece and that it's from the WaPo, (hardly fans of Donald Trump) but if these people knew that the threat was serious, while the president was publicly downplaying it's severity, it rises to a whole new level of scumbaggery: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/opinions-three-big-takeaways-from-the-stunning-gop-stock-selling-revelations/ar-BB11tkZT?li=AAggNb9 Quote Burr reportedly was receiving daily briefings on the threat of the virus. In mid-February, he sold 33 stocks held by him and his spouse, estimated at between $628,033 and $1.72 million, Senate financial disclosures show. It was the largest number of stocks he had sold in one day since at least 2016, records show. Making this potentially worse, that same month, Burr privately advised a group of well-connected players that the coronavirus threat was very alarming — “akin to the 1918 pandemic” — even as Trump was publicly downplaying it. Quote Burr is pointing to a briefing that Trump and administration officials gave in late February, suggesting that this showed that they warned Americans about the need to “begin making plans” for serious inconveniences to come. But that very same briefing from Trump and his officials actually shows them vastly downplaying the threat and vastly inflating the success of their own efforts. In it, Trump declared that their strategy was already having “tremendous success, beyond what people thought.” And multiple other officials also hailed the “success” of their containment strategy. We now know this was the opposite of the truth — the threat was not remotely contained, and the administration’s failures were to blame for it. Burr’s own defense actually shows that the administration was dramatically misleading the public, even as Burr privately warned that the situation was far more dire.
RUPERTKBD 26,414 Posted March 20, 2020 ***sigh*** It's one step forward and two steps back for this guy.... https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-rips-reporter-who-asked-him-calm-scared-americans-terrible-n1165031 Quote NBC News’ Peter Alexander, a White House correspondent and a weekend anchor of "TODAY," then asked Trump whether his “positive spin” regarding the potential treatments was giving Americans false hope. “Is it possible that your impulse to put a positive spin on things may be giving Americans a false sense of hope?” Alexander asked. “No, I don’t think so,” Trump replied. “It may work, it may not work, Trump said. “I feel good about. That’s all it is, it’s a feeling.” Alexander responded by asking Trump to talk directly to Americans who are scared by the pandemic, which triggered the president to reply with an insult. "What do you say to Americans who are scared though? I guess, nearly 200 dead, 14,000 who are sick, millions, as you witnessed, who are scared right now," Alexander asked. "What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?" “I say that you’re a terrible reporter,” Trump said. “That’s what I say. I think that’s a very nasty question.” "The American people are looking for answers and they’re looking for hope, and you’re doing sensationalism," Trump said. "Let’s see if it works," the president added about possible treatments. "It might and it might not. I happen to feel good about it, but who knows, I’ve been right a lot. Let’s see what happens," he added. NBC News Chairman Andy Lack defended Alexander. “Peter Alexander is an outstanding reporter. His line of questioning at today’s White House briefing was fair, straightforward, and necessary," he said in a statement Friday. U.S. stocks, which had been up for the day before Trump began the news conference, tumbled steadily as the president spoke. In recent trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down nearly 200 points, or about 1 percent. Trump returned to the topic of media coverage later in the news conference, using another question from another reporter to levy an additional attack on Alexander. Trump was asked if he felt "going off on Peter" was "appropriate when the country is going through something like this" "I do," Trump replied. "I’ve dealt with Peter for a long time," Trump said. "And I think Peter is not a good journalist." Even in the midst of a crisis, Trump gotta Trump....

His main promises were ..... 1) Build a wall on the southern border and have Mexico pay for it. FAIL 2) Repeal and replace ObamaCare .. FAIL 3) Massive infrastructure spending to repair the crumbling roads and bridges .. FAIL He has 1 major legislative achievement - Tax Cuts for the wealthy. He's doing as good a job as South Korea, Japan and China? The USA had a 5 week head start to mobilize and get ready as Covid-19 ransacked China and the East which was squandered. He spent those weeks downplaying the virus. Which could very well be why you see so many ignoring it. Now major states are on total lock down. They are already running out of medical supplies and begging the general public to manufacture masks and gowns.
