Anyone who sees little difference between Trump and Biden is wrong.

But that under 35 vote was so busy that they forgot to vote for Sanders in the primaries.

they did, which is a real shame. Apathy is what lets guys like Trump win.

You don't seem to have a lot of sympathy for this age group, and maybe therein lies your answer as to why they aren't too pleased with the older democrats.

may millennials are putting off having kids because they can't afford it, I think thats top of mind for many (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/12/style/the-edit-millennial-parents.html).

I see. So you think it's no big deal to them.

Maybe we should ask some of our female board members what they think.

I disagree. I think very few people see Biden as the same as Trump. For whatever reason, you seem to have decided that the only thing that separates the two is whether one will forgive your student debt, or build a whole slew of low cost houses.

well, yes having a home of your own, less debt, better health is kind of important. I see older democrats as being so focused on beating Trump at all costs they're forgetting about millennials or are mad at them for wanting more change.

I didn't say that. I said they have many important issues facing them, and maybe just maybe not being able to afford to have a family is more important than Trumps judge selection. Surely you can see that.

Again, I disagree. I think older democrats, much like African American democrats are more pragmatic than the younger ones and see Bernie's grand ideas as just too risky to bet on when the worst case scenario in their minds is another 4 years of Trump.

They're not mad at millennials for supporting Bernie, anymore then they're upset with the ones who support Warren. The ones they get upset with are the whiny few who decide to vote for trump because they didn't get their way in the race for the Democratic nomination.

Think Jimmys hitting the nail on the head in regards to Democrats right now

It seems the stars will really have to align for Trump to lose

Biden is not gonna unite the progressive and moderates

Democratic turnout is already low..add a bunch of pissed off progressives to that situation

Democrats had 4 years and an election of Donald Trump to figure out their $&!# and in the end the Candidate is Joe Biden..and old white establishment Democrat lol

Of course I can see that. But since (in your words) "not being able to have a family" will occur either way, why would they choose to ignore the judge selection?

I think many of them come by that whining honestly. We never had to face what they are, in terms of affordability.

Why would I respect people that voted for Trump, just because they were pissy and decided to screw all of us.

Anyone that thinks women, minorities, planet earth, other countries is better off under Trump is beyond help.

I was a member of this age group somewhat recently, but I have no sympathy for stupidity regardless of the age.

So you think that voting for Trump out of spite is justified?

IMO Bernie was the only one who would be able to bring in enough voters to beat Trump. We'll see, I'll be thrilled to be wrong. I don't see Biden getting it done.

why would they care?

I think most people care (one way or another) on whether women have control of their own reproductive rights. I suppose that's something else we can agree to disagree on.

I don't think even some high-profile Conservative speakers will be voting for him. But he probably gets in over Biden IMO.

the turnout will tell the tale, I see a lot of apathy coming from the left this time around. Again, I'd be thrilled to be wrong but I don't see it. I'll buy you a beer if Biden wins.

We definitely disagree on who has the better chance of beating bone spurs, but that was secondary to the conversation, as far as I was concerned. I believe that Biden has the nomination sewed up, so the comparison to Bernie is a waste of time. It's all about the comparison to Trump.

As far as Joe's chances, I've made this point several times, but I'll post it again. it comes down to a question of what costs the Democrats more support in the Presidential race: Disaffected young Democrats who stay home, or vote for Trump out of spite, or undecided voters who see the price tags for Bernie's promises and are swayed by the constant barrage of "Socialism" that the Republicans would use had Bernie been the nominee.

I think the Dems lose far more support in the latter scenario, but I suppose we can agree to disagree on that as well.

hey thats what discussions are for.

I see the dismissal of Bernie as something the younger voters may take as dismissals of whats important to them. What might save Biden's bacon is his VP choice - if thats a person that can re-ignite interest in younger voters maybe they have a chance.
