Could be. TBH, I'm suffering from a bit of information overload atm. I tend to see "aid package", say "good" and then move on.

Glad to see it in any case. Even though we disagree on may things, I think we both believe that the governments of the world have a responsibility to help their citizens as much as possible, in times like these.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they did. Absolutely our view on politics is staunchly different but admittedly I'm accepting the government of the day as the government of the day at a leaving politics out of it and hoping they are doing the same. Like I said this package will add massive to the debt but in my opinion it's not enough. I also think going into the next election whenever that may be in this country that no party can hold that against this government as they had no choice and every other government would have done the same or let's hope they would have.

Majority of Americans now say they approve of Trump's handling of coronavirus

This is the issue though is everything is still going to be political. It's just like people calling for martial law in Canada which will require the prime minister to suspend everyone's rights. I won't say if it's the right move or even give my opinion on it however for people to think there wouldn't be a political decision behind that are delusional. When this all ends all the talk would be about how he imposed martial law and took away everyone's rights not really sure any prime minister wants that on their record. I feel like times like this we all need to come together no matter who the leader is and do what's best for the nation.

I agree, however, I think we both know that this likely won't be the reality.

Well I didn't go out of my way. I am in the industry and was curious. So I took a few minutes to Google it. Turns out her husband is just a crappy investor.

As for the other Senators. They haven't done anything illegal. Is it moral or ethical? That's an entirely different question.

It is and let me start off by admitting that this is an opinion piece and that it's from the WaPo, (hardly fans of Donald Trump) but if these people knew that the threat was serious, while the president was publicly downplaying it's severity, it rises to a whole new level of scumbaggery:

Burr reportedly was receiving daily briefings on the threat of the virus. In mid-February, he sold 33 stocks held by him and his spouse, estimated at between $628,033 and $1.72 million, Senate financial disclosures show. It was the largest number of stocks he had sold in one day since at least 2016, records show.

Making this potentially worse, that same month, Burr privately advised a group of well-connected players that the coronavirus threat was very alarming — “akin to the 1918 pandemic” — even as Trump was publicly downplaying it.

Quote

Burr is pointing to a briefing that Trump and administration officials gave in late February, suggesting that this showed that they warned Americans about the need to “begin making plans” for serious inconveniences to come.

But that very same briefing from Trump and his officials actually shows them vastly downplaying the threat and vastly inflating the success of their own efforts.

In it, Trump declared that their strategy was already having “tremendous success, beyond what people thought.” And multiple other officials also hailed the “success” of their containment strategy.

We now know this was the opposite of the truth — the threat was not remotely contained, and the administration’s failures were to blame for it. Burr’s own defense actually shows that the administration was dramatically misleading the public, even as Burr privately warned that the situation was far more dire.

***sigh*** It's one step forward and two steps back for this guy....

NBC News’ Peter Alexander, a White House correspondent and a weekend anchor of "TODAY," then asked Trump whether his “positive spin” regarding the potential treatments was giving Americans false hope.

“Is it possible that your impulse to put a positive spin on things may be giving Americans a false sense of hope?” Alexander asked.

“No, I don’t think so,” Trump replied.

“It may work, it may not work, Trump said. “I feel good about. That’s all it is, it’s a feeling.”

Alexander responded by asking Trump to talk directly to Americans who are scared by the pandemic, which triggered the president to reply with an insult.

"What do you say to Americans who are scared though? I guess, nearly 200 dead, 14,000 who are sick, millions, as you witnessed, who are scared right now," Alexander asked. "What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?"

“I say that you’re a terrible reporter,” Trump said. “That’s what I say. I think that’s a very nasty question.”

"The American people are looking for answers and they’re looking for hope, and you’re doing sensationalism," Trump said.

"Let’s see if it works," the president added about possible treatments. "It might and it might not. I happen to feel good about it, but who knows, I’ve been right a lot. Let’s see what happens," he added.

NBC News Chairman Andy Lack defended Alexander.

“Peter Alexander is an outstanding reporter. His line of questioning at today’s White House briefing was fair, straightforward, and necessary," he said in a statement Friday.

U.S. stocks, which had been up for the day before Trump began the news conference, tumbled steadily as the president spoke. In recent trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down nearly 200 points, or about 1 percent.

Trump returned to the topic of media coverage later in the news conference, using another question from another reporter to levy an additional attack on Alexander.

Trump was asked if he felt "going off on Peter" was "appropriate when the country is going through something like this"

"I do," Trump replied.

"I’ve dealt with Peter for a long time," Trump said. "And I think Peter is not a good journalist."

Even in the midst of a crisis, Trump gotta Trump....

Being in America now is like being on a bus headed towards a cliff. And realizing the driver doesn't have a license, doesn't know the rules of the road and is drunk.

Alexander's question was the definition of a 'softball'. Then again, if I had spent the last three years bragging about the stock market and unemployment rate and saw them both vaporized, I might be a little testy too.

There was more too ............

Fake news....

Many many people are saying that no one in the history of mankind has done more to help others than Trump during this virus scare. He is tackling the virus, deep state, and communist fascist socialist liberal dems (who by the way want everyone to die to make him look bad).

I truly feel for the Americans who didn’t vote (and did vote otherwise) for that dried up turd of a president.

The US is rudderless with a scam artist $&!#stain in charge.

You've had that opinion from day one:lol:.

Pretty much every poster here is outraged like every other day.

Trumps been the same since running. His voters don't give a &^@# about his honesty towards the BS,they care about actions and hes lived up to his promises and much more.

Hes doing as good of job as any government handling the Coronavirus. Except he was on top of it much earlier with travel bans from China which of course he was deemed racist for.

If he didnt do it then things would be much worse.

Least you guys are consistent and entertaining.

Funny all the outrage to Trump and all of you just ignore the fact this started in China

Just another day in the Donald Trump Thread

Let's say you're sitting on a bus. Are you comforted when the driver loses his sh*t on another passenger for no reason? Or do you wish you A) wish you were on a different bus b) wish you had a different driver?

Yep, he was an evil, bigoted psychopath while he was running, and he's acted exactly the same since he started destroying democracy to the south of us.  He's passed the point of rehabilitation and should be executed for crimes against humanity.  But of course destroying the pandemic team totally redeems this subhuman waste of oxygen in your eyes.

Good question.

The passenger asked a perfectly reasonable question at question time.

Its a high stress job and most information can already be found before the passenger gets on the bus.

Trump is a &^@#ing moron but answering the same question over and over every day just for a sound bite has to be annoying.More important questions need to be asked and hes probably mad he cant go golfing right know.
