Brace yourselves, Vancouver Canucks fans, the injury woes won’t stop.

The Vancouver Canucks would likely be in a better position to make the playoffs if it hadn’t been for their injury troubles. Well, after injuries to Alexander Edler and Brandon Sutter last week, it looks like Bo Horvat is next.

Horvat, who had a bad start into the season but turned it around, took a shot to the foot in Saturday’s 5-2 loss. According to TSN’s Jon Abbott, Horvat tried to practice today but couldn’t and is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Minnesota Wild.

Without him and Dan Hamhuis, who also missed today’s practice for a maintenance day, the lineup looks like this:

Adam Cracknell on the second line? Linden Vey centering Alex Friesen and Radim Vrbata on the third line? Alright.

Jim Benning keeps saying he wants to make the playoffs. The Canucks should definitely continue to fight for that goal, but only because losing on purpose is nothing athletes should or would ever do. Still, it is time to admit that the playoffs are extremely unrealistic.

Now, it is clear that trading Vrbata and Hamhuis would not improve the situation by any means, but keeping them probably won’t help either. This team is headed for a lottery pick — nothing else.

Still, it would be great to see a healthy roster for at least a 10-game stretch or so. It is hard to believe, but the Canucks have not been able to enjoy that feeling yet. Having a healthy roster. Man, that would be nice.

With all the negativity out of the way, it will be great to see Friesen make his debut tomorrow night, against the Wild. Minnesota just released their head coach Mike Yeo, so they might be extra motivated and it will be a tough game. However, it is also a great chance for Friesen to show what he can do at the NHL level. He earned it.

Back to the negative aspects of this. According to today’s practice lines, Emerson Etem will be a healthy scratch against the Wild.

Ben Kuzma is right in saying that Etem wasn’t very good against the Leafs. But, honestly, who was? Is it time to give up on Etem yet? Were the Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers right to let him go after all? We shall find out soon.

To finish this off with some positivity: every injury puts us one step closer to the first-overall selection at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Auston Matthews in blue and green? I’m all for it.

Final news for the day: Jacob Markstrom will get the start against the Wild. No surprise here.

Is it time to give up on Etem? Give your head a shake, author.

Solid GDT, OP.

This idiot Willie.

Cracknell with Baertschi and Virtanen. Oh the chemistry. Vey with Vrbata lmfao I wonder how many goals they give up. Etem plays hard every game and gets scratched. Vey now also plays the point on the PP with the Sedins. Yah that 70 MPH clapper. Atleast Hutton gets some time. Maybe this game they will actually gain entry. Honestly Sbisa has had the best rush of any D on this team and can't even get a chance. Kill me now

Bo is out? The guy leads the league with minus 27. It's not the end of the world... It might even help not having the leagues leading minus player on the roster.

Fire Willie plz.

Also JB hates MG boys. Gaunce deserves to be here.

I still believe in this team. Lord Daniel and Henrik will lead us.

Stoked that Friesen gets a shot.

Hope he can turn into our 4C next year.

Exactly . Now is the time to see some of our prospects. See what they have.

How about Shinks ?  When do we get to him into 3-4 games with real minutes
