Beauty&TheBeast
I would pay to see the individual responses of CDC if Horvat was traded to TBL for Drouin.
Apricot
Two things: 1) Benning's trades are seriously messed up. I'm honestly concerned that he's gonna straight up and trade Horvat one of these days. It might just happen, we never know with Jim. 2) Stealth, I'm already feeling bad for you and there's still a week left until the TD. I wish you luck sir, I really do. I hope Shink does well, especially against us, so that I can see Benning's face when he realizes he's about to be fired. just dont understand why a vancouver fan would want to see us lose this or any deal ? Granlund is a player that seems to have been sliding down Calgary's depth chart for a couple years. We also don't need more centers, whereas we could use more scoring wingers. Granlund also isn't really an upgrade over McCann or Vey, so he doesn't improve that department and makes us even softer. I just hate to see us develop players like Shinkaruk only to trade them before giving them a shot in the NHL. I have a feeling we just sold low on Shinkaruk which isn't gonna do much to help us in the long run. Seems to me Benning was just itching to make a trade and made a bad one for the sake of it. Though he obviously prefers playing C, Granlund is more than capable of playing wing, and can play anywhere in the lineup, Shinkaruk cannot. I would have thought you would have seen merit int his minor deal. I don't think it's any great steal by any means, but it's certainly not a bad trade. Again, with 8 centers in our organization and Granlund being comparable to at least 2 or 3 of them, vs our LW depth consisting os Kenins and Higgins and gaunce who is a C/LW Why did we need another player the likes of which we have in plenty? Again, if you have 5 tires for your care and trade your stereo and carb for 2 more tires...well you got a bunch of tires but your still not going anywhere

I hope Hunter does well for his career. But i sure hope not against Canucks, you know, the team i'm a fan of.
BI3KSA-
The fact that we traded Shink in our div speaks volumes to how Benning, Green and the rest of management projected Shink. Obviously they dont see him making it to the NHL.

I think the fact that he couldn't land in any capacity with another NHL team demonstrates that he could never work his way into the NHL GM Club. None of the other GM's took him seriously. RonMexico
The best teams in the league have center depth. The Canucks have lacked center depth forever. Now that center depth is built up with plenty of upside prospects, the masses have their pitch forks raised ready to strike.

Tortorella's Rant
Anyway, I don't approve of it but I'm not entirely against it either. Based on paper, what those involved in the league/media have said.. I dunno. We'll see soon enough..
