Leafs Playing Young: Who would we bring up now?

Recommended Posts

Watching the Leafs play on March 2nd Against Washington was a Lesson.  Playing a bunch of the Marlies, including Nylander of the Virtanen draft year, and wondering if and when we get to do the same thing here.  The game was terrific: the Leafs were in it to the last few seconds.  Fell short, good for the Draft Pick, and yet a good deal of fun watching some of the future.  A young Russian was terrific, not just Nylander (who is not superior to Virt imo).  This is a new experience for Vancouver: out by March 1st.  Even in the Torts year it was not the same somehow.   Anyway, who would you like to see get a chance to play?  Kalamazoo players?  Guys we haven't seen yet?

Technically we could try out Guillaume Brisebois once the QMJHL season ends. Pretty sure Titan is nowhere near making the playoffs.

I was reading somewhere (Canucks Army I think) that 16 of 18 teams make the playoffs in the Q, so they may be close to the playoffs.

If at all possible, it would be cool to see Tryamkin this year.  Perhaps more of Pedan too.

You're not wrong about the playoffs, but Titan is still 4th worst in the Q.

Tryamkin I'm a bit worried about his shoulder, but Pedan will 100% get a call-up.

McCann is a more impressive prospect than W. Nylander.  Very similar offensive skills (McCann shoots better) and McCann is A LOT tougher and meaner and nastier.

I'm calling your bluff bud.. Watched the game as I do with most..  Nylander was nowhere near as good as he was in his first game.   This game he seemed hesitant to do anything but play on the perimeter.. Virtanen has never been hand fed 5 mins on the pp

my favourite play was when he let ovi get setup in the offensive zone instead of engaging, which led to a scoring chance..  Virtanen wouldn't have hesitated to line him up!

WN is skilled yes.. But this fanbase has been crying for a player like Virtanen and now will cry he's not the soft sskilled type?  Give it up dude!

I'll never turtle and show my underbelly, like W. Nylander.

I would take Mcann over any of the Laughs prospects.. Kid plays with Hart and grit!

next softy on the list is MM goodness!  Could you imagine the hate this fanbase would generate for that guy!?

Yup.  I don't get the Leafs picking that guy so high.  It's like when Yaerman took Drouin, when .seth Jones was there.  We might be hard on JB for his lack of moves at the TDL, but we all must admit the guy drafts well.  McCann was a bloody steal!

You haven't even watched him play!!  and wow great hindsight with the Drouin pick.  Alflives great analysis as usual

Hey thanks!  And coming from you too.  I guess you're realizing, now that W. Nylander is up with the big boys, that JB made the proper choice.  Sometimes it just takes a while to see the flaws in these soft players' games.
