Ben Hutton - would love to see this Canuck on Team North America

I would like to know how many people on CDC think if Ben Hutton is good enough to be considered and added to Team North America?  I personally think he would be a solid addition and feel this would be a great learning experience for him. He could attend the tournament in Toronto and take what he learns from there and transfer it to 2016 - 2017 season.  Your thoughts ...

Hes simply not good enough. This team is basically going to be the olympic teams in 6 years

I really appreciate the sentiment here. I'm also a big fan of his. I also totally agree it would be a great learning experience.

That being said, I would have to agree with Gstank that Hutton is just not there in his development (yet).

Couturier, Saad, and Jenner are all two way guys. Especially Couturier.

For someone who is a defensive center like Couturier, his face-off percentage is very average. I would have expected it over 50%.

While including Hutton would be great for his development, I honestly don't think he'll make the squad. There are other U23 players who are much more developed and improved than Hutton at this point

Other guys who should make it ahead of Hutton include:

Dougie Hamilton

Justin Faulk

Shayne Gostisbehere

is Justin Faulk eligible for the NA team? He turns 24 this month.

But to add to that list, Cody Ceci, and Matt Dumba are better options than Hutton too.

Now that I think of it, I dont think so. They have to be under 23 by the time the tournament starts so if true, then unfortunately for Faulk, no.

Is this suppose to replace the Olympics or will they do both?

I think they're supposed to be going to the Olympics in 2018, but with how much it costs to insure the players and the state of the Canadian dollar you never know.
