Predictions: Who stays?

What do you think will happen this summer?

Im predicting that Mccann, Edler, burrows, higgins, maybe miller will be traded for a high pick and more. Or burrows, higgins bought out.

Vrbata, bartkowski and weber will all be gone for nothing.

Resigning of all RFA's including Vey.

Hamhuis will be signed to a two year 5.5M deal.

Canucks will get two First round picks. One in top 5. Another lower via a trade.

Teams lineup will look like

Sedin, Sedin, Hansen

Baertschi, Horvat, Virtanen

Vey, Sutter, Etem

Gaunce, Granlund, Dorsett

Tanev, Hutton

Hamhuis, Sbisa

Tryamkin, Larsen

Pedan, Biega

Markstrom, Bachman

Plus any other players that come in with trades/ draft picks.

Willie will still be coach(at least for next year)

Thats my guess or at least would like to see happen

Vey will not be back with the big club he will be one traded as we have burr and higgs that one should be bought out and hope the other (higgins) agrees to terminate his contract! But I see moves little ones like Vrbata and hamhuis for a pick 4th or so to teams trying to sign them before free agency!

I hope we go after Drouin and hamonic for the likes of Tanev,Vey ,McCann,Grenier and maybe a pick!

I would not trade Tanev, to solid of a D who is still young, but am hoping a McCann-Droiun trade.

The UFAs will certainly be gone -- Prust, Bartkowski, Vrbata, and Weber.  I think they'd like to bring Hamhuis back, but they've got at least 8 others looking for a spot next year that pretty much need to be in the NHL.

RFAs -- I've really liked Vey's improvement, but it might not be enough to keep him.  They'll probably try to package him in a deal, depending on what other forwards come in (Gaunce, Rodin).

Higgins and Burrows -- possible buyouts, but I think they'll do what they can to move Higgins and may keep Burrows until the TDL, as they seem to want him as one of the few vets around the kids, along with Hansen and Dorsett.

Been resposting this, but it really sounds like Edler to me:

I'd rather go for Yakupov. He has higher upside and will be cheaper. Possibly way cheaper. His agent is an x Canuck and Yak was a Bure fan growing up.

Yakupov seems like a bad attitude guy. Don't think benning will go for that. Maybe Hopkins though. That being said we won't trade with edmonton

He doesn't have a bad attitude. He was thrown into the fire in Edm. Then he was making really dumb defensive plays because nobody was there to teach him. Then Eakins started to feel the heat. Since Yak was the youngest and the least experienced (and Russian), Eakins hung it on him. And Yak was just like wtf ? Nobody taught him anything. And then stories were going around that he doesn't have much friends on the team. I lived and partied in Edm from 2010 to 2014. I remember seeing "the crew" at Hudsons a few times. Hall, Eberle, Gagner and RNH. I never seen Nail ounce.

He just needs to get TF out of there.

Depends. If we were to fluke out and nab the 1st overall pick, then McCann is as good as gone. However, that most likely will not be happening, so I believe he'll be sent to Utica for most of next season.

I believe that the team will try their damndest to move Burrows, Higgins, Prust and Bartkowski. Higgins and Prust will be gone no matter what. Burrows and Bartkowski could go either way.

Neither Weber of Vrbata will return.

Hamhuis will resign.

Hansen will not be moved.

Subban may be moved for a D prospect more to Benning's liking.

Rodin will be signed, and will be on the roster opening night.

A free agent defenseman will be signed.

Miller will not be moved.

Its all about speeding up the process here. Our 2016 first could likely be in play for Droiun or Harmonic.

It would not surprise me if Edmonton overvalued him. Don't think it would be worth it IMHO, although I do like Yak as a player.

Sedin Sedin Hansen

Baertschi Sutter Rodin

Etem Horvat Virtanen

Gaunce Granlund Dorsett

Edler, Tanev

Hutton, Hamhuis

Sbisa, Biega

Pedan, Tryamkin

Miller, Markstrom

I don't see any major changes. There is room to sign a D-man and a Forward as everyone would just move down the order. If a "Name" free agent gets signed, which I don't think will happen*, then Etem, Biega, Paden could be in Utica or moved.

* They will try to target a D-man in free agency, But not a great year for UFA's with Yandle and Goligoski being guys to sign. Though one or both would make our D way better.

Higgins will be bought out

Burrows will be off the team either by trade(Montreal), retire or bought out

Vey will be re-signed and put through waivers again. He is pretty versatile, not a star but someone to call up when the injury bug hits.

McCann will start in Utica

Larson will start in Utica

Can't see any major trades as the only pieces wanted by other GM's is our top prospects. Benning ain't moving any of his picks and no one wants our old core.

Prospects will most likely be moved but not any top pick's (McCann, Boeser, Demko)

We will get a good pick but not top 5, still draft a beauty D-man

We will continue to draft, develop, move prospects till the depth is deep with guys who can just step in and play.

This is just a combination of what I'm wishing for and reality of the contracts we have. As contract expire more youth will step in. The Canucks are going to be a fringe for another year then they will take a step up the ladder.

Not much different then the OP

Benning is painting himself in a corner. He has publicly stated that

1. Tryamkin

2. Larson

3. Pedan

will be on the roster

so thats

4. Edler

5. Tanev

6. Sbisa

7. Hutton

8. Biega

9. Hamhuis

I don't understand how this is going to work.
