Boeser with the twins next year

Anyone else think they might seriously look at this?

Kid is destroying. First in goals and points in the NCHC. Only other rookies to score like this are like Toews, Oshie, Parise.

Not only does he have an elite shot, but he has great hands and vision as well.

His speed also seems to be better than I expected.

He would instantly make our power play much better.

Seems to be able to pick corners at will.

Did you watch the WJC this past Dec/Jan. Boeser didn't feature very well. Why is that ? well he was playing against tougher opposition. Most players are as good as the opposition permits. Boeser will be in the NCAA IMO next season and maybe without Caggiula (Sr) ) Most NCAA players come from Junior A or High school

I doubt the Canucks will rush him into the league let alone have him on the first line as a 19 year old rookie. Let's be honest, he may be lighting it up in college but when's the last time the Canucks had a rookie come into the line up and light it up right away? It's either one more year in college where hopefully he has a year like he did this one or they sign him to a pro contract and he starts off in Utica. I can't see him spending more than two seasons in college.

Virtanen seemed to look pretty bad as well but looks like a completely different player in the NHL.

It was also on bigger ice and Brock isn't the fastest skater, doesn't suit his game very well.

It's not like he's coming straight out of the draft. McCann and Virtanen both made the team and Boeser is a much better prospect than McCann imo.

I get he's still young and another year would do him good, but Sedins are declining and it would be nice to see them with a winger with that kind of shot and skill before they retire or decline too much.

I agree Virtanen didn't look much better and if he wasn't playing for a junior team controlled by the Clgy Flames he would have been back in Junior

Only until recently has Virtanen found his game in the NHL. He looked lost at times early on and was a question mark whether he was ready or not. Now it seems as if his confidence is through the roof and having the size and speed is a huge advantage. Look at McCann for example. Has a heck of a shot and great hockey IQ but his lack of strength and average skating is affecting his ability to make a difference night in and night out. With time he will mould into a great player but it seems as if the NHL grind has caught up to him this season. This could affect Boeser as well.

Please no. We can't 'pull an Edmonton' and bring this kid up too fast. He needs at least one year in Utica just to learn how to take a hit and get used to pro speed hockey.

He has the Twins with him, not an Old Ryan Smyth.  Boeser would be great with the Twins.  Get 'er done JB!   ::D

Sure maybe he'd score but I'd be worried for his safety if he didn't have some AHL seasoning.

Everything the Canucks have indicated is that the plan for Boeser is to stay there until he's ready for the big leagues.  If all goes well, we'll see him as a Canuck in 17/18.

Hes playing on a great line thats extremely tough for the competition at that level to contain.

Certainly a good development situation for him... Great school with great tradition and a brand new state of the are reno to their facilities...

There's no need to rush him into the NHL, he's not a piece that's going to put us over the top and we're in a rebuild anyway. We're gonna have an interesting time sorting our roster without him coming into the NHL picture as is.

He could be something special for us, management would be wise to let him cook.

Bure.

I hope you're right. I doubt we see him on our roster for 2 years. If he elects to spend another at college then the second should be in Utica.

Speaking of Russians, its on the Tryamkin post and on the KHL site - the deals done, Tryamkins on his way :-) So maybe we can bring up Brock and have him properly protected ;-) Kidding, I'd really like not to risk screwing up BB.

Yeah it's obviously nothing to do with protection. The patient fans just want him to develop properly. If he's ready next year then so be it. Sad part is if he elects for another year at school we won't even get to see him alongside other prospects at training camp.

Really looking forward to a fresh face on defence. Poor guy is going to have so much attention focused on him it's probably better that he doesn't speak English.
