Angry Goose Posted March 7, 2016 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Compared to his rambling post game shows on TSN 1040, I am enjoying J Pat's work with the Province. He seems very enthusiastic in his pod casts with his questions and seems (to me at least) much more interested in what his guests have to say then his own thoughts. When he does offer his own thoughts, they are succinct which is great. His articles seem fair and interesting reads as well. Also one thing I hate from music djs is the idiot talking over the music till the lyrics start. WTf, the music is the start of the song , just shut up already. Scotty does a 5 minute interview and then spends 4 minutes rehashing exactly what the guest and he talked about- just stop please. When Sekeres and Price are the best in town, on radio, sports radio sucks. Heck I put Brook Ward above those two, but Brook is just a Giants and fill in dude. tas Posted March 7, 2016 Share Posted March 7, 2016 i couldn't stand him on the radio. his speaking cadence was jarring and left too many strange pauses, and his tone and inflection made him sound like a mental patient because he was trying to do an over the top radio voice. reading his writing is fine. That B-Mac, Donny + Moj show is unlistenable , i can choke thru Sekeres and Price and their whining but that Bmac show is horrific radio. Just 3 very uninteresting dudes with no clear program or agenda. Ive literally tried to get thru there show half a dozen times in the past 2 months and its impossible. When the host talks more than the guest, you know the true agenda. He's a good guy in this market. Hopefully he won't be forced to talk about the Kardashians to beg for a wider audience. Big fat swing and a miss on: McCann making the team, Hutton making the team, no movement on TDL, Willie getting fired - even after Linden confirming he wont be fired, eating pizza with a fork. Don Taylor is good he has a ton of BC sports history behind him, he was great on tv until rogers let him go to go with cheaper ppl and make everything now eastern biased, its a canuck game but we have to hear about eastern teams during our intermissions.... His long winded questions and attempts to answer his own questions within the question or lead the interviewee to the answer the way he wanted were madness inducing. Overall, Team 1040 is a mess. The morning show is a joke and the afternoon show was getting just as bad when I stopped listening.
