Dank dat hank
I know we all want the Canucks to tank and get a top 5 draft pick. But a lot of people don't actually see how close we could be for making (at least challenging) for a playoffs spot. Yea we are ten points out but if we go on a bit of a run and win three straight we've already cut that gap by a lot. Canucks next three games are Nashvill, Winnipeg and Colorado which are beatable teams. Im not saying we'll make the playoffs and I'd prefer to tank but we're closer than we think to just challenge for the final wild card spot

We're still 10 points out. Your asking a sub 500 team to play well above 500. The reason people are getting excited about a top 5 pick is because usually sub 500 teams are much closer to a top 5 pick then they are at making any noise in the playoffs. RetroCanuck
Canucks dont stand a chance of making the playoffs this year... 3 reasons 1. Injuries, Edler, Sutter, Henrik, Hansen and who knows who's next? 2. They want to try new players and experiment for next year. Tryamkin, Pedan, Gaunce... 3. They don't want to, they can't win, management wants that high pick.

BCNeil
The problem is the team hasn't had any hot streaks in a long time, and there is no reason they would now. With several top players injured. But a first round matchup against the Black Hawks would be fun

desiboynux4lifee*******
there is only one player to blame for this nonsense of being medicore and finishing 10th in the west, and I don't want to say his name, but his antics have made me appreciate guys like Beiksa so much more then ever. Why? Bieksa was a true - warrior because he wanted the goal of a stanely cup. I personally respect players like that because the playoffs is a war zone, and Bieksa and even that Kesler wanted a cup so they knew what to do. Whereas, some guys want to teach youth, which is okay, but this was the year to get a top 5. No? also with that stunt you put your management group in a bad spot, while you shy away being the hero of the day give me a break, YOU COULD HAVE WENT TO PITTISBURGH AND HAD A CHANCE TO PLAY WITH SIDNEY CROSBY FOR A CUP. why not? I'm done, you know who im talking about.

However in this case, if the team pulls a rabbit out of the hat and makes it, our chances in it are going to be so incredibly slim, that chances are we are embarrassed unless our kids play lights out and our goalies stand on their head. If we make it than all i can is wow our young players are over exceeding. Long story short yes anything is possible, but the lower we are in the standings the better, our team needs to a good chance at drafting a good high pick player. The fact that we are wining a few games lately kind of sucks, damn that Markstrom lol.

Tajun
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Canucks have still not won three straight this year. So no, I don't see it happening.

Shaft
Wishful thinking but don't get your hopes up. Don't watch the standings like most of us were probably doing last year. This season is done, let's enjoy watching the young ones play and gain valuable NHL experience.
MayRayDown
No Henrik, Sutter, Tanev, Edler, not really a chance. Also our underperforming Vets Burrows, Vrbata, Miller I'd just put a nail over the coffin for this season.

canuckledraggin
You should take another look at the standings. There's another team in between them and that wildcard spot.
