interesting to see that the team has worked out a deal with prust.

can anyone fill me in on the details?

does his salary come off the books now?  I see that General Fanager

shows us with over 7 million in cap space, I thought it was around 5.

tramkin's salary will be prorated I expect, so he'll be a cheap addition for

these last few games. good timing too, as the salaries are almost a wash

1.  His salary remains on the books and he's still getting paid.  As others have mentioned he's just shut down for the seasaon, getting medical attention.

2.  Nhlnumbers.com shows the Canucks having $0.242 million in cap space.  I think the difference is in the way they calculate LTIR.  I've posted about it before and think that generalfanager.com takes the player's entire salary as available for LTIR, while nhlnumbers estimates based on the cap hit of the replacement player.

Since the AAV of the replacement player during time on LTIR is the relief the team actually gets, I am more trusting of nhlnumbers' figures than those of generalfanager (or those of capfriendly.com.)

High ankle sprains have ruined quite a few careers, especially when players have borderline NHL skating to begin with.  Something else has also ruined many careers.  Being a baby.  He should be happy, he's still getting paid, he gets to try and find a new team next season and he had the opportunity to rehab his injury in a pro league.  As far as I'm concerned, he wasn't good enough at any point this year with his ankle as it was. I don't doubt he had been an essential 4th piece in the past.

....meanwhile, my boy Zack will likely scrape out a decent grinder spot for years to come.  Damn that trade.  Damn it to hell. Yes, I am a Kassian fanboy.  I've likely heard all the arguments and still fan for him, so save the details of why Zack sucks, and why we should all hate him.

Ok so don't get me wrong as I'm a fan of Zacks too.. But only he can be to blame why he isn't a Canuck anymore.  He didn't clean up his, so he's gone.  This team is much bigger than 1 player.  Let's be honest, nobody knows what would have happened if he didn't get that wake up call that early morning in Montreal, maybe he goes downhill and never plays again.. Maybe as fans of Zack we should be happy for him?  Wishing him nothing but good things for him personally.  But, I think it's time to move on. :)

Cause Kassian is really destroying it in Edmonton. /sarcasm

High ankle sprains are nasty, nasty things as you mentioned. Hard to come back from. Prust's attitude is really what killed his likeness around here. The stint against the Rangers killed the respect I had for him.

You seem to have the market cornered in  cutting down Prust so why isn't Kassian fair game?

That.  We should all be happy for him.  Hopefully he has cleaned up his act and will continue to assist on McJesus' GWGs.  I don't think Zack holds a grudge against the Canucks or the Habs mind you, from his comments when the Coil picked him up, he sounded relieved to get a 4th chance.  I'd welcome him back though, he reminds of a person I knew and lost with similar issues.  Nostalgia perhaps, but my entitlement nonetheless.

Cut him down brah, do it.  I doubt you will say anything that hasn't already been said.  It's a forum and a relatively free country so I take any Kassian bashing restrictions back....and if my comment on Prust is cornering the market on cutting him down, then you are over sensitive.  All I did is call him a baby.

Sorry for your loss Chalky.  You of all people must know that Zack still has a long way to go before he's ought of the woods.
