-Vintage Canuck-
Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout suspended 1 game for a punch on unsuspecting Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov. Video: http://ow.ly/Zv4Hu
Toews
The only reason not to hate this guy is because he clocked Lucic. But let's be honest he is a big time POS.

TheOgRook
This is suspend able but the Sedins can get speed bagged and it's not even a penalty.. OK DPS!?
Guest
IS THAT IT? Bertuzzi wouldn't even get a hearing in today's joke of an NHL. You'd think Pronger, having lost his career to concussion, would stop all this nonsense.
Qwags
I hope the GM's meeting is talking about the woefully inconsistent DoPS.
DalesArmy
So now that it has been established that a blind sided sucker punch is worth 1 game suspension. Seriously, the DOPS has their heads up their asses as this punishment is now worth the crime in this and future cases.
RUPERTKBD
Pretty much a slap on the wrist, but I wouldn't worry. Judging from what I've seen from this guy, it's only a matter of time before he does something to get himself 10 or more games. Hopefully it won't cost his victim even more... Their progressive discipline seems selective at best, so that's broken too.
Mathew Barzal
Douchebag move but Kuch doesn't need to be the third man in there.

Kucherov has every right to grab players to stop them from doing to his team mate the same Prout did to him. Is Prout a douche on this play? Yes. Until the gloves come off Kuch can lock up whoever he wants. That's what I'd do.

I mean I wouldn't have a problem with it if Sustr was getting mugged by the guy but he both initiated and followed through in the scrum. Kuch was basically headlocking from behind while Sustr was giving Foligno a facial. I understand where you're coming from but it's one of those unwritten rules that you let 1v1's just kind of play out...

Scrums just like that happen 5 or more times a period, and every whistle in the playoffs. Not trying to start a scrum with you here (cause Prout will punch one of us in the back of the face ), but agree to disagree I guess. And you're wrong . If I see a team mate getting a glove wash behind my own net after incidental contact on my keeper I'm in there. 1 vs 1 plays out when the gloves come off. When emotions and more people get involved it's a scrum. Happens all the time. edit: Right/wrong was supposed to come across as a joke, but it probably didn't.
