Nucksfollower1983
Does Vrbata get a Contract offer this summer? After a sub par season and being 35 years old does he get any NHL offers or does he become another Veteran victim of the NHL's youth movement? Erik Karlsson
I feel like he'd be a good fit on the Canadians for some reason. Don't expect a team to pay him any more then 1.5 mill though.

YEGCanuck
Agreed, not with us. I am thinking he wants to go out on something of a high and this season doesn't cut it.
alfstonker
I wouldn't mind him getting another year here. I would prefer him by far to Higgins.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
I have a feeling Vrbata's gonna draw a fair amount of interest in free agency and will get paid a lot more than most people on here seem to be expecting.
Nucksfollower1983
I didn't mean with Vancouver I think its pretty much a given at this point that we won't re sign him. I'm thinking he will be in the PTO crowd, gets 1 more year then a couple season in the KHL before he retires.

Even with his age and a bad season, there will be interest in him in free agency. This past season has been one of his worst and he's still fourth in goals on this team. You must be sniffing some good glue if you think he's done at this point.
Phil_314
Gotta think someone will pay up. Still expecting a major pay cut in his next contract (maybe $3 million per?) but by reputation alone teams will recognize that he has Radimable value. Wouldn't be surprised if a team hoping to gun for the playoffs (like the Panthers of past years) looks to buy low for him as an affordable scoring option after his down year. Look at what happened last year lots of guys that many people thought would be signed weren't and are no longer in the league. I know people will say its 1 down year but at 35 that could be a real sign of things to come for him. I think teams will be reluctant to commit to him for more than 1 year. and that's after they see what he can do in camp.

What exactly has Vrbata shown you during this season which would make you want to watch him for another? He's not playing with the Sedins even if he stays. Higgins? There's no room for Burrows let alone Higgins so why is he even a factor?

If I'm not mistaken, none of them were goalscorers like Vrbata is supposed to be though. Pretty clear Vrbata won't be signing here, but someone with an injury or a hole to fill will take a flyer on him. Probably for a year or 2 at most.
