Kazmanian Devil
Hey guys this is my first proposal! No hate please! First we draft Auston Matthews! If we don't win the lottery we trade our pick + Mackenze Stewart for 1st overall. To New York Islanders: Alexander Edler, Derek Dorsett To Vancouver Canucks: Travis Hamonic Edler will waive for the chance to play on a line with Hamonic. Hamonic wants out, pretty obvious. To Tampa Bay Lightning: Jared McCann, Alexandre Burrows To Vancouver Canucks: Jonathan Drouin Burrows will waive for the chance to play on a line with Drouin. Drouin wants out, pretty obvious. To St. Louis Blues: Ryan Miller, Jannik Hansen To Vancouver Canucks: Konrad Abeltshauser St. Louis could use an elite goalie to finally contend for that Stanley Cup! We pick up a solid D prospect to step in in 6-12 years. Using the cap space gained from those trades we sign: Steven Stamkos (signs to play with his good buddy Drouin) Milan Lucic (good BC boy) Kyle Okposo (signs to play with his good buddy Hamonic) Kris Russell (good shot blocking lad) Jonas Hiller (good goalie playing for bad Calgary team!) This leaves us with lineup: Milan Lucic - Auston Matthews - Brock Boeser Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Kyle Okposo Jonathan Drouin - Steven Stamkos - Jake Virtanen Sven Baertschi - Bo Horvat - Anton Rodin Emerson Etem, Markus Granlund Kris Russell - Chris Tanev Ben Hutton - Travis Hamonic Nikita Tryamkin - Jordan Subban Andrey Pedan Jonas Hiller Jacob Markstrom Don't worry about Boeser not being NHL-ready, he will have instant American chemistry with Matthews! Subban has to come up to be our PP specialist, he is ready imo! Please leave positive feedback below. Will report any negative comments.
TheRussianRocket.
We'd probably have to retain cap on Burrows to make the deal work but I wouldn't mind doing that. Burrows deserves a bigger role on another contender and wouldn't be able to get it here. Tryamkin-Subban have potential to easily be Chara-Krug 2.0. Subban and Tryamkin are both ahead of the development when comparing this stage of their careers as well. ...easily one of the better proposals I've seen here in a long time

qwijibo
If Vancouver won the lottery do you think they'd trade down for a prospect of the quality of Stewart? I don't You have Edler waiving for a chance to play with Hamonic, in a trade where you trade Hamonic. Either way I doubt Edler waives Tampa won't want Burrows, Miller was abysmal in St. Louis in his first go around there. They wont want anything to do with him (and I doubt he'd want to go back) The odds of a lottery team signing 5 top free agents are next to nothing. Pears
St. Louis already traded for Miller before and that failed miserably. 0 chance that happens again.

Not to mention Edler gets to play with fellow Swede David Ullström. 4 minutes ago, Pears said: St. Louis already traded for Miller before and that failed miserably. 0 chance that happens again. That was the Blues fault. They traded for Miller 3/4 through the season and expected him to adjust and be in prime form within a month come playoff time. Mismanagement on their part. ...since, Miller has been a top 10 goalie in the league and often the Canucks best player on any given night. So what it failed miserably the first time? With that logic, are you saying Ottawa wouldn't welcome back Ben Bishop from Tampa?

And with Jake Allen finally breaking through I really don't see a need for the Blues to trade for Miller.
