I have a strong feeling they will. They seem unstoppable.

They also have a clutch playoff performer in Justin Williams this year, where they didn't in the past.

Here's hoping you're right, I've like nothing more than to see Ovi and co win it all.

Looks like a friendly week for the Wings coming up, then again if Philly manages a win against the Caps that could be their playoff ticket.

If Wings and the Flyers play well down the stretch this could kick Boston out of the playoffs.  Boston's next two games are with Chicago and St. Louis then Carolina, Detroit, and Ottawa. If Chicago can find their groove (hopefully this means Keith won't get suspended unfortunately) and then lose to St. Louis and an equally determined Detroit it's highly plausible for Boston to miss the playoffs again.

Of course the problem is that neither Detroit or Philly have easy schedules down the stretch.

The Panthers have been given 2 delay of game penalties because fans threw rats on the ice on a night when the team literally gave them to fans for that reason. Complete BS! What's next, a penalty when fans celebrate a hat trick?

This is the kind of stupidity that angers fans.

Was it during play?

Also I agree it should be delay of game, if it wasn't why would teams just hire people to just throw things on the rink every icing call to give their players a rest

No, it's a team tradition to throw rubber rats on the ice after the Panthers score and that was the case tonight. Also, it was Rat Night in which the team was celebrating the Panthers team that made the playoffs in the '90s and they gave the fans the rats, so the "special occasion" exception to the rule should have been used. They certainly have no problem not calling delay of game penalties most of the time when other things are thrown on the ice even if they take as long to clean up as these rats did.

Further, Florida is a valuable TV market they're trying to get this team to be successful in, so giving fans this one night would have just been smart business.

Also, I can't speak to the validity of it but some fans are claiming that NJ fans were the ones throwing the rats on the ice after the Cats scored their 3rd goal in order to draw the second delay of game penalty. Being that all fans were given the rats as they entered the building it's certainly possible, so that should have been taken into account by the refs.
