Patrick Kane
Probably no top 3 pick, missing out on Matthews, Laine and Puljujärvi Sedins retiring soon, and have declined to 55-60pt players and lost durability. Garbage goaltending depth, Demko is GREAT, but goalies are hit or a miss and take 3-5 years to develop. FIXED^ Bottom 3 defense corps in the NHL (active roster AND prospects) Edler - #3-4 on most good teams Tanev - #3-4 on most good teams Hutton - lone bright star, but lets not get ahead of our selves, probably tops out as a #3-4 (like Ryan Ellis) Tryamkin - only time will tell, but a lot of 'mammoth' sized defenseman have failed. Sbisa - lol Biega - lol Pedan - lol Vrbata and Hamhuis not traded for assets, Vrbata likely to walk, Hamhuis to decline to a #4-5 defenseman. Lack of high end forward prospects. Baertschi looks good, a 25g/25a guy. Horvat looks to be a 40-55pt 2nd-3rd line tweener. Virtanen = Raffi Torres 2.0 McCann has upside, but years away from breaking out. Tops out as a 2C. Etem, Vey, Gaunce, Granlund, Cassells laughable. Boeser wild card, see how he can translate to pro... Horrible contracts still with: Burrows Dorsett Sutter Higgins Sbisa Miller Worst general manager in the league employed right now, who can't even sign a player properly. Worst ownership to have for a 'rebuild', will likely push for playoffs next season... Overall, only bright spots... Hansen (2.5m player who can chip in 40-45pts, but he did play with the Sedins...) Horvat (Probably will end up quite solid, but don't expect him to replace Henrik Sedin) Baertschi (Looks to be a solid 2nd line winger in the future, but I don't see him doing it year after year, will occasionally have big flop seasons) McCann (Has shown spurts of being a good player) Hutton (Steal of a pick, but is no Duncan Keith in the backend, maybe a solid top 4 guy) I expect 5 years of bottom 10 finishes for the Canucks. The funny part is, fans don't realize 'Dark times' are needed to build a potential dynasty/perennial contender. Chicago, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, etc.. Not every team can be like Detroit. I'll continue watching, and hope they lose, lose, lose and keep playing the youth like they have this year, but 90% of people in this thread are being sensitive, but the truth is CURRENT state of this franchise is very bad is all I'm saying. Tystick
Very pessimistic. Virtanen = Torres? Demko looks okay? Lol I know you're probably trying to be realistic, but we're going to be better off than you think.

Are you kidding me? Edler's a #2. Tanev's a #2-#3. Hutton is a #3. Hamhuis is a bottom 4. Tryamkin looks to become a top 4 guy. Millerstrom has been brilliant for us, and Demko likes Vancouver - and he's good. You think Hobey Baker nominee is "okay"? Sbisa's not on a terrible deal (maybe not a good one, but still) 50 pts is great for a 2nd line player. Pedan is still a prospect Gaunce has played all of 16-18 games Granlund has hockey smarts And Boeser's done better than Toews and perhaps Parise did in their rookie years and you call him a wild card? Wut m8?
