Win three in a row, lose three in a row.

This could be the 1rst of 3 in a row, both teams the Nucks play will want to make a statement, that next season they will be better than the Canucks. It is a rivalry thing.

Tonight the Canucks get to play against a team that is so close to breaking out and dominating for a decade with the Nucks looking at their behinds in the standings.

I remember when reaching the playoffs was the goal of the season, going any further required the very good teams to be eliminated by other teams.

Edmonton has played one game over the 8 days and they got the arses handed to them by the other rival, so I expect them to come out and win the final home game, with vigor.

6-3

They've been so close to "breaking out and dominating" for quite a few years now.

What's changed about the culture in the room that is going to turn this team around?

Edmonton come out flat in their last game at Rexall, embarrass themselves in front of the Oil alumni and the Canucks cruise to a worse draft position.

5-2 Canucks

Goals from: D. Sedin, Horvat (2), McCann, Hamhuis

1.  The coach

2.  The GM

3.  McDavid

4.  Hall is now a veteran.

Culture doesn't win games by itself. If the room lacks "culture" then it is up to the guys running the team to provide it, once it is achieved then they leave the room.

They have a strong leadership group in management willing to make a bold move via trades.

The Oilers will lose their last home game at Rexall tonight, like the losers they are. The Canucks will win 5-2, and after the game Henrik will tell reporters that the Oilers didn't try hard enough, so don't get too excited about the Canucks 4th win in a row. The Oilers fans could care less about the loss tonight, as they'll be reminiscing about the glory days 30 years ago.

It doesn't look like the team is getting Mclellan's message.

Chiarelli is a decent GM, but also was the GM that traded away Seguin...

McDavid is talented, but again, just one player.

Hall is a talent, but plays a game that lends itself to injury more often than not.

Defense? Goaltending?

And defence men take years to develop.

Goal scorers can't be developed at all. They either have it or don't.

Sure thing. Although Tryamkin is looking like he may buck that trend somewhat. As well, if Benning drafts Chychrun (who is considered to be well beyond the developmental bell curve for defensemen) that theory may get tested.

Any skill in the NHL can be developed by the right training and coaching staff. This includes skating, positioning, stickhandling, and shooting accuracy.

I would love to see what happened to the Ducks happen to McDavid and Kassian

It will. Kassian may end up eating a few Pedan punches tonight. Kassian and Nurse are pretty tough dudes, but they don't have anything on the Iron Curtain, baby!
