[Proposal] Hockey Trade

Recommended Posts

Honestly, this trade is amazing for the Islanders, a very good defensive center like Sutter is so invaluable to teams that want to compete for a cup. You need that shutdown guy he could pot 15-20 goals a year. Horvat will be that guy for us so Sutter becomes redundant. If we happen to win the draft lottery, which i'm calling it now- "we will" then McCann needs to switch to LW.

Strome will play with Tavares, and Nelson is better on the left side. So Tavares, Sutter then Nielson. Barzal is a couple years away, he needs to get stronger.

No. Nielson is a 20 goal 50 point player. He's already a second line center and a better one than sutter. The last thing the islander need is Sutter.

That's fine, i'm not saying Sutter is better offensively, he's way better densively. Nielson get's 50 points and is an even player with 40 hits. Where as Sutter get's you 20 goals a hit a game and is a plus player. They are very different players, one plays a 200' game the other doesn't

I wonder what the + would be, Sutter and ? if it's a first then no way.

I'm not sure, I don't think it would be since Sutter is a pretty good asset in the first place. I could see it being Pedan or someone like that. I wouldn't trade our 1st obviously but maybe the 2nd?

Hell, he's been playing 1st line with Tavares and Strome for chunks of the year.

No idea why NYI would want to move a big minute defenceman for yet another center. They already have more centers than they know what to do with, forcing a number to play wing.

Again, do the Islanders have a quality shutdown centerman like Sutter? the answer is no and that's why the deal makes sense. Building a team is the issue, you need different pieces that do different things for a team to win.The Islanders need to move Hammonic and he fits our needs perfectly and Sutter fits the Islanders needs.

You're right. We are lucky Ladd went to Chicago because they would have probably done that trade over the summer.

Tavares, Strome, Nelson, NIelsen and Barzal in the system.  Islanders don't need another center.
What they need is a goal scoring winger to replace Okposo and Edmonton fits that bill to a T.

Edmonton is trading Hall?

More likely Eberle or Yakupov in my opinion.

For Hamonic, Alf thinks it would have to be Hall.  A young top 2 D-man, who plays a really physical game for Yaks or Ebbs.  Not happening.  Would you trade Tanev for one of those two?  And Hamonic is a much BETTER player than Tanev, because of his physical and offensive talents.
