Sly_Paragon
I've read somewhere online that most motorola phones already come unlocked. Is that true? Planning to get the moto x play from wind $449 /telus $420 outright. (don't know if i should wait until the 4th gen comes out, by then the price of the x play should go down) really impatient
Where's Wellwood
I bought the Nexus 4 unlocked years ago and have never regretted the decision.
elvis15
You do know Wind and TELUS run on different cellular frequencies, right? A phone meant for one network usually doesn't work on the other. But no idea if the Moto X comes unlocked out of the box. Perhaps if you bought it straight from Motorola, but I'd suggest you check with them or ask on a cellular forum like MobileSyrup. http://community.mobilesyrup.com/topic/i-think-im-sold-on-the-moto-x-play/

Thanks i've heard good things about nexus phones. I may just get the nexus 5x since the price isn't that far away from the moto g

tyhee
We have a couple of Moto G phones, a 2nd generation and a 3rd generation, though we didn't buy them unlocked. We got good prices through our service provider. They're real good phones, work the right way, are foundational in our telecommunications and have been real good for us. taxi
That's too bad. I use this and its great. I bought it when the dollar was on par, so it's kind of lame that a 2 year old phone is actually going up in price. There have been a few issues with needed returns, which isn't uncommon with any phone. The difference is that you can't just take this phone back to the store, you have to mail it to China and deal with customer service, which is always spotty for any foreign company. elvis15
I get that you have questions, but don't spam new threads for each one - especially since these don't have enough substance to be anything more than a status update. If you really want answers go check a cellular phone forum like I linked in your first thread and either ask or see if they already have the answer. I don't know that anyone would have complained if you'd just asked about the Nexus 5X and OnePlus One in your Moto X Play thread.
