Hortankin
So I went to the nhl draft simulator and on my 3rd attempt we won Matthews. Arizona picks at 7, so lets work out a trade so that they can get a hometown hero in Matthews and we can really kickstart our rebuild. TO VAN OEL Domi 7th OA (top d prospect) TO ARZ 1st OA (Matthews) Vey's rights Weber's rights If Benning gets Boeser signed I can see him making the jump early like Horvat did, id give him until about christmas before he gets a full time spot, unless he really impresses at camp. I see Boeser as a very mature person just like Horvat, something tells me they are future line mates. So by then I will also assume McCann and Virtanen are back up so here is how I see our roster Sedin Sedin Hansen Baertschi Sutter McCann Domi Horvat Boeser Gaunce Granlund Virtanen Etem, Dorsett OEL Tryamkin Hamhuis/Edler Tanev Hutton Sbisa Pedan Miller Markstrom
JustABandwagoner
Instead of Domi maybe Strome? and tbh, I would get matthews. We need a franchise center
LordCanuck
If we win we take matthews, Unless they give us OEL, 1st 2016, 1st 2017, 1st 2018, Domi, Strome and 10 billion dollars.

I mean Matthews has similar skill to Mcdavid just maybe watered down a little. Know what a mean? xD
Hortankin
TBH Horvat seems to be a franchise center to me. He is our Bergeron, so what he dont score like McDavid, although he does look like he has potential to get 70+ points a year. Our D is our biggest problem, if we can get 2 major pieces like OEL and one of the top 3 Dmen in this years draft, plus a very talented player in Domi who will be amazing along side Horvat, if we get all this for Matthews, we take it IMHO. Matthews is great but he isn't McDavid.
Kazmanian Devil
They wouldn't trade OEL alone for that package Well, at least I wouldn't
Hortankin
Right now here is how I see it Future forwards Horvat Boeser McCann Virtanen Gaunce Granlund Etem Vey Rodin? Grenier? Cassels? Zhukenov? Jasek? Gaudette? Future D Tryamkin Hutton Subban? Brisboise? Pedan? Larsson? Olsen? Goalies Demko Markstrom This is how I would build a team: Get young top 6 talent (4/6) Get top 4 young Dmen (2/4) Get a franchise goalie (1/1) Forwards are easier to project and trade for/sign. Get the 2 Dmen we need and then work on the rest of the forwards. We need to start building our Dcore, the forward and goaltending core are a lot further ahead. I think that would be the best move this franchise could make if they found themselves lucky enough to get 1rst overall.
Junkyard Dog
Coyotes already came out and said they won't trade OEL at all let alone for a pick.

-AJ-
I'm actually pretty sure Arizona would say no to that. OEL is a huge part of their d-core future. They need that to succeed.

wai_lai416
Arizona is starting to trend up and they gut the team for matthew? ya right.. whatever place they end up will be adding another good piece to their puzzle..
Z Hockey
If I'm Arizona I wouldn't even think about moving Ekman-Larsson, he's the backbone of their team and a rare D man who's Elite and only getting better. They have no other D men in the system to replace him and their D would be horrible without him, replacing him would be nearly impossible and not worth it. Don't trade your best player for an unproven center whom you don't REALLY need. Dylan Strome is their future No. 1 C and they also have other fantastic young talents at center with top six upside in C. Dvorak, Merkley, & R. MacInnis, and they just picked up another young solid center in 2013 1st rounder Conner Bleackley, from the Boedker trade. Plus their 2012 1st round pick Henrik Samuelsson who is a natural Center and is another player with top six upside. Moving Ekman-Larsson for Matthews would be very silly IMO. Coyotes should draft Juolevi, he'd be the perfect fit and piece to add and the perfect type of D man for them.

Some people compare him and even go as far to saying that he is better than Jack Eichel. Some hockey analysts call him a generational talent... and yet others say that he will be a good franchise player (which he most likely will be), I just wonder whether his ceiling will be anywhere close to either McDavid or Eichel.
